Re: Welcome to The Clearing [GxB] [Mystery/Drama/Romance] [FREE] [Looking for partners]

After reading the premise of the story, would you find this visual novel interesting? I certainly do! The characters all seem very intriguing and I'm looking forward to an MC who stands up for herself. Do you think we would be able to fund the game on kickstarter with a reasonably high goal despite ...

Re: A Bureau of Monsters [B/G x G][B/G x B] [Visual Novel, Turn-based Fighting, Plot Driven] [Max Monsters Jam]

This sounds like a really cool concept! I love time travel and I'm always excited for VNs that have both male and female love interests. For the battles, I guess it would depend on how fun and challenging they are. While I do enjoy some VNs that integrate gameplay, it can be annoying if it's too ha...

Re: Fate's Bite: A Vampire Hetalia Fan Game

Oof, you have just hit me with my past obsession love of Hetalia, super intrigued to the release of this game >v> What do you think about the premise? Vampires are a classic, but I have to admit, the fact that it's based on Hetalia draws me in quite a bit. Do you enjoy visual novels with dark themes...

Re: Animating vbox in a screen? (calling a screen from within a screen?)

Well, you can just attach a transform to the vboxes the same way you do for the images. vbox: at myTransform xpos 1021 ypos 40 text _("[mongen]") size 20 #omitted the rest to save space This will animate all of the elements in the vbox at once. myTransform can be any transform you create, you can o...

Re: Animating vbox in a screen? (calling a screen from within a screen?)

There are many reasons why your code may not be working, but without seeing it, we cannot help you figure out what is wrong. It would be better if you post the relevant parts of your code, like the screen you're trying to create/modify, and how exactly you want the animations to go. As for your que...

Animating vbox in a screen? (calling a screen from within a screen?)

Hello, I'm running into some problems with using screen language. My original goal is to add animated text a screen. Is that possible to do with vbox? Should I be animating each string of text separately? I tried putting the vbox in a separate screen, but I've been having problems calling that from ...

Re: Animation in LayeredImage freezing?

Troubleshooting I've done since: -Added a second blinking sprite that does not need to switch between genders, this one performs with no errors. Might this have to do with the code needing to continuously check which sprite's gender I want? -Changed a few blinks to just open, this seemed to eliminat...

Animation in LayeredImage freezing?

I set up a blinking animation with LayeredImage and noticed that as I placed dialogue in the game, the blinking animation freezes and defaults to the closed eyes image whenever I change between two mouths. This also coincides as the last frame of the animation, but I tried putting in an extra frame ...

Re: Making a random image show up like that?

Not 100% confident here, but I think you want to use 'elif' for as many cases as you'd like and 'else' once. 'else' should be used for when you've already listed all the other specific cases you wanted. (Just thought I could give a pointer before someone more knowledgeable comes your way and answers...

Re: Global Variable and Renpy function in Init Python?

Thank you both! This worked! (:

Out of curiosity, is there any difference in using a global variable for a function like this vs. returning the variable at the end of the function?
As in, is there a difference in chances of a bug/some wrong value being inserted between lines of code?

Global Variable and Renpy function in Init Python? (Solved)

Struggling to understand what's happening with my code, hopefully someone can shed some light? ^^; This is what I started with, and closest to my intentions. I'm trying to generate a bunch of variables based on two input values to the function. At first, without the global value code, the code wasn'...
