Without getting too complicated, this is what I do to have a movie loop in the background. In particular I use this to show a video of clouds in the sky floating across the screen while characters talk. If you wanted to get more complicated you could create a screen instead and layer things on top o...

Re: I'm running a VN consumer survey and would appreciate your response

Bumping this old thread to see if the results of the survey were ever published. I searched through OP's twitter and didn't see the results there either.

eta: Saw on twitter that OP is still working on making an interactive site to view the survey's results

What do you use for placeholder music?

I'm still trying to figure out what kind of music I want to use for my visual novel and got a little overwhelmed when I was browsing through music marketplaces that sell sound packs for video games. My game is a comical mystery noir, but I really just want to start getting some music in there so I c...

Re: Last game you played?

I'm playing Fernz Gate right now. It's by a company called Kemco who put out RPGs on mobile and consoles pretty regularly. Their games tend to be pretty basic on the graphics side, but they're easy to play and relax to.

Re: What is your primary key on making a visual Novel?

Interesting, i've learned a lot of thing from this thread Thanks guys ~ but... i haven't see someone from "Commersial PoV", i would like to see one if possible If you were to design a game simply on the concept that you want it to be profitable and make money? There's a couple of differen...

Re: Places to Brainstorm

It could depend on where you live. If you live in a bigger city you might be lucky enough to have an indie gaming community that does meet ups where people discuss ideas and get feedback from others. If you're in the US I know that Seattle and Portland have meet ups and Vancouver, CA has one as well...

Re: Favourite Final Fantasy?

I'll have to go with 10, but I haven't played the games after that one, so I don't know if I would enjoy them more than 10. I should really get to playing them soon, what is the general consensus on 11-15? Replying to an old thread cause I'm new here :) FFX is my favorite and I really love the HD r...

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?

Hatoful Boyfriend was my first! I was kinda aware of visual novels before that, but had never paid much attention. However, after seeing a lot of memes and jokes about HB my friends I decided to play it and we ended up being blown away by how crazy it was. I bought the sequel after that and started ...
