XD (because I know some background of the situation)

I'd say the new artist is better, though.

Re: Ren'Py for iPhone. A lost cause?

For example, if you check out the humble indie bundle: http://www.wolfire.com/humble , you'll see that a quarter of their revenue appears to have come from Linux, and nearly another quarter from the mac. I'm not saying that this is accurate, but a windows only release will be ignoring a large fract...

Re: [WIP] The Duke's Daughter

I don't know if that's "well into the script," because I'm still right at the beginning ^^;
I didn't think it has progressed enough to warrant an update. What I can say is that things are coming together, and the characters are starting to form nicely.

Re: Ren'Py for iPhone. A lost cause?

I may be ignorant here, but isn't windows pc still the dominant market? Being able to run a game inside a browser on any system would certainly be versatile, it would mean that the only thing that would need to be individual to the platform would be the browser. It could be weird, though. (Goes to c...

Re: Too much focus towards Japan?

This was something that I ran into in writing before even getting into vns. Most English novels are set in the us or the uk, and since I live in neither I had 2 problems: 1) did I know enough about life in either of these places in modern times in order to write the setting convincingly if I did use...

Re: Events that can occur anytime conditions are met

You need to make sure that the function definition (the 'def CheckEvents:' and everything that goes with it) is in a python block, if you refer to Jake's code you'll see that there is an 'init python:' before it, which makes it both an init block and a python block.

You can use != for not equal.

Re: Computer pet peeves

Nah, it's a msi windbook (10.1" :D). The keyboard is comfortable in general, but if they just would have placed it between the ctrl and windows key it would have been much more comfortable. Possibly I just need to get used to it because I keep bumping the touchpad while I'm writing and ending u...

The function button on laptops. I hate it! Why is it where ctrl is supposed to be?!

Re: First person writing

Real writers use third person. Real real writers can even get away with writing in first person. As far as novels go the above is an acceptable rule to have, but in shorter pieces especially it is possible to pull off a good first person piece. And in the case of vns we can just about throw the rul...

Re: WIP - Vector Charactor Sprite Creator

Normally, you would have an artist create a vector image, like you would have one create any image. The advantage of vectors, though, is that the lines are represented as formulas. So by writing the right formulas, you could theoretically get a sprite without having to draw the lines yourself. All y...

Re: WIP - Vector Charactor Sprite Creator

I have made some progress but haven't worked on it too much lately, been busy with actual vn projects. I do have something with a command-line interface that works. I haven't done too much work on the how it draws the actual sprite yet i.e. what the lines should look like. At the moment it just draw...
