Re: My function keeps doing something unintended that's a bit hard to explain

A friend fixed it for me, apparently returning values from a function within a called screen can screw something up, so the function works normally when changed to not return anything.

[Solved] My function keeps doing something unintended that's a bit hard to explain

Yo Basically whenever I call this function "get_char_image" my game firstly, does exactly what I want it to do, which is change the variable "cip_image_final" to whatever the function "get_char_image" tells it to change it to. Then, for some reason it doesn't stop there. Looking at the Interactive D...

Re: Clicking on imagemap hotspot overrules modal True

Sorry nevermind, there's something way stranger at play here that I don't understand. So it's not that the hotspots are lining up and that's what's causing it, it's that it's seemingly choosing a random thing to activate whenever I click on any of the inventory hotspots. Before now, I'd only tried i...

Re: Clicking on imagemap hotspot overrules modal True

Nope that doesn't work. At least not the way I did it. I'm assuming that workaround doesn't work because the hotspots are already placed there before I open the map, and even though the variable that tells the game that the inventory is open is now 1, it doesn't take out the already existing hotspots.

Re: Clicking on imagemap hotspot overrules modal True

I came up with somewhat of a workaround. By giving the overworld imagemaps' hotspots an if statement that's if inventory is open, hide the hotspots. Not very elegant and will definitely take some time to do with how many hotspots I have all over the map but it'll do I suppose. Will try it now.

Clicking on imagemap hotspot overrules modal True

Yo hey Having some trouble with modal True in imagemaps. https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/screens.html#screen-statement In the documentation, modal True is said to do exactly what I want it to do. I have an overworld imagemap with some navigation between rooms etc. and I have menu imagemaps that can b...

Re: How to make a textbutton that shows an image full screen?

Oooh my god yes, that worked! Thank you so much.

Slight note about my last post, I had quotation marks around imgvfst, which was obviously wrong, that was just another thing I tried for the hell of it while trying to get it working.

But yes. It all works exactly how I wanted it to. Thanks again!

Re: How to make a textbutton that shows an image full screen?

Ah yes thank you, that does allow me to open the screen. I've messed about with the code a bit with your help and this is what it looks like now: add ac_pic size(765,460) if ac_desc != "": textbutton _("Show image"): xalign 0.5 ypos -0.99 action Show('imageac', ac_pic) screen imageac(imgvfst): tag m...

[SOLVED]How to make a textbutton that shows an image full screen?

Heyo, I've been trying to make this textbutton that shows up on top of an image that you can click to then show the full resolution version of said image. This is my code so far: vbox: text "{size=+10}[ac_name]{/size}" text "{size=-5}[ac_desc]{/size}" add ac_pic size(765,460) if ac_desc != "": textb...

Edgescrolling

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble getting edgescrolling to work. I've been reading this part of the documentation https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/screens.html#viewport . But I feel like I'm missing something. I'm trying to make the game's main menu image in to an edgescroll thingy. Here's the code I'm ...

Defining a variable from another variable

Seems like a silly thing. But for some reason, I can't figure out how to define variable "01checkday" as the value of variable "day" I need to remember what day the player was on during this particular event. And although this seems like it would be really easy to code, I simply can't figure it out....
