Re: Sprites are blurry in fullscreen in renpy?
I asked a question similar to this one a while back, but I've got something else that is bothering me now. I've drawn a few images for a game that I am working on, and when the game is in windowed mode, the images look just fine. However, when I make the game fullscreen, the images become a bit blu...

Re: My game disappeared from the Ren'Py launcher?
No technical reason. The desktop is intended for shortcuts and app launchers. That you can store files there, was an unintended side-effect. Mostly, its just bad practise, is all. Over time, you'll get used to doing it, and eventually clutter up the desktop. You'll one day decide to organise it, an...

Re: My game disappeared from the Ren'Py launcher?
Anywhere, generally. Are you using Windows? Your user account should have a folder called 'documents'. Or an external hard drive (beware it doesn't change drive letters) You can use the desktop, its not inherantly different to other storage areas, its just not recommended. Its full address is usual...

Re: My game disappeared from the Ren'Py launcher?
Go to the preferences / options setting in the launcher and relink the appropriate folder. Your "desktop" is not the best place to store your files - it is meant as a temporary destination only. Thank you for your help, I appreciate it. I am new to making games/visual novels with Ren'Py. ...

My game disappeared from the Ren'Py launcher?
It has been a couple days since I have worked on my visual novel, I've been busy with work and such. However, I opened the Ren'Py launcher today to work on it, and my game had completely disappeared. Only the tutorial and the question were there, nothing else I have made. All of my game files are st...

Re: Music sources for Ren'Py?
You should check the Creator's Corner section of this forum, not the Renpy section. Assets: In this forum there is a subforum for that. See the creative commons: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewforum.php?f=52 Programs: Also in this forum, creators discuss about it: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/...

Music sources for Ren'Py?
So I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for sources where you can download free music/sound effects for visual novels? I am working on a visual novel myself, and I will need some music and sound effects for my game. Also, if you don't have a recommendation for where you can download fre...

Re: Images are blurry/low quality in Renpy
The usually reason for this is Ren'Py isn't running at full resoltuion. When you go into preferences, is Window highlighted? Well, when I click on preferences in the launcher, I am not seeing anything that says window? Am I clicking on the wrong thing? I apologize! I realize you meant preferences i...

Re: Images are blurry/low quality in Renpy
I don't use GIMP myself but here's the GIMP doc so hopefully it'll shine some light? It'd be under the interpolation. Can you explain what resolution you're resizing from and what resolution you're resizing to in GIMP as well out of curiosity? The resolution both before and after in gimp is 13.7800...

Re: Images are blurry/low quality in Renpy
What resizing method are you using? The default GIMP uses is Nearest Neighbor, IIRC. Try usin bilinear or lanczos or spline32/64. Also, what are your resolutions? Starting resolution and final resolution? If the difference is somewhat large (>2), you may want to consider using step scaling which is...

Re: Images are blurry/low quality in Renpy
I also was sure to resize the images to the size that my game is set to in Ren'Py, and I even changed up the resolution a bit to see if that did anything, but it was still low quality.

Re: Images are blurry/low quality in Renpy
Are you resizing to the same size as your game is set to? (check gui.rpy and the gui, init line). Do you know if Ren'Py is using hw or sw rendering? (press Shift while clicking the Ren'Py launcher shortcut/icon and Force a renderer) I wasn't sure what type of rendering Ren'Py was using, so I did wha...

Images are blurry/low quality in Renpy
So I am currently working on a game in Renpy and have started adding in my art for the visual assets of the game. I am using gimp to resize my images to fit the screen in Renpy, however, whenever I scale my image to fit and then look at it in game, it always appears low quality. I understand I am ma...
