Re: Good story but decent art

Personally, I think that any kind of art is fine so long as it isn't distracting... but there's many kinds of distracting art, and that's the crux of the problem. Also, good art can and oftentimes DOES elevate the story(and can make subpar stories serviceable, although bad stuff is still plain bad),...

Re: A very long common route and late character introductions?

One excellent way of doing late character introductions is to foreshadow the characters properly by insinuating their existence in the story through various means. This allows for the character to "exist" in the story even if they haven't appeared "in proper" yet, and if their ap...

Re: Writing process: focus on story first vs. world-building first?

I figured I'd go and explain how I create a story. Maybe it'll provide a good reference point to someone, who knows. So here's how I(as an individual) plan out my writing process: I have a single idea, maybe it's about a fantasy world where flying fish alien invaders are coming from the sky. I usual...

Re: Requesting feedback on the beginning of a fantasy script

Wow, thanks a lot for the encouraging feedback. The optional CGs are mostly there because they're indeed optional - they're not needed for the story to have its intended impact. You raise excellent points, however... especially the stallkeeper bit, which I will keep in mind. Also, when the VN descri...

Requesting feedback on the beginning of a fantasy script

Hello people. I have the beginnings of a VN script(Middle-Eastern fantasy) that I require a few more eyes on. Originally, this script was a webcomic script, but I've worked on turning it into a proper visual novel script. I need your opinion on, well, everything. If you have specific questions, plea...

Re: How much does background lineart cost?

My apologies. I should've indeed added some examples.

Let's see... Something like this one(I hope this artist won't mind my using her art as an example): https://www.deviantart.com/giaonp/art/R ... -662790883
A semi-realistic style with a tinge of anime to it.

How much does background lineart cost?

Hey-o, people!

I have a question in mind: how much would it cost to commission high-quality background linearts? Just linearts, without the whole coloring escapade.

Re: Read and Critique: Destined - The Second Script!

I'd love to continue reading your script little by little and giving a more detailed opinion on what I personally feel works for me, and maybe answer "why" I think it works for me as an individual. I can't do it too much, but I'll try to do a little bit of reading depending on my energy le...

Re: Read and Critique: Destined - The Second Script!

I should clarify that your main character didn't actually feel like a blank slate, but rather a person with their own way of seeing and interpreting things(this sort of logical or emphatic way of seeing things, depending on what kind of choices you make). I felt that was an important point to emphas...

Re: Read and Critique: Destined - The Second Script!

I read until the fifth day, I think? I'll give my thoughts on this. While it seems that you're going for the standard "tabula rasa" MC that can be molded according to the player's ideals(nothing wrong with that, it can be an excellent way to do things if done right), your writing and knowl...

Re: Sekai Project: Experiences and Observations

Ah, it never crossed my mind that there could be NDA concerns, but it is obvious in hindsight. *rolls eyes* I agree, I'll continue working on our stuff then, and will contact Sekai Project once our project is in a presentable state, feeling them out and seeing what their game is.

Sekai Project: Experiences and Observations

So I have a couple of questions about Sekai Project, since our team has to consider trying to get published by them in the future(that's in the future, true - but one has to plan ahead). Has your story been published by Sekai Project? How was it to work with them? What did they offer? What did you h...

Re: Guestbook

@Iscentia Nonsense(referring to your self-deprecation) - everyone has to start somewhere. You'll get better as you keep writing. Think of it as getting experience points. Every time you write, you get little better but you won't notice it until some time has passed. Just keep writing and work on you...
