Re: Require player-inputed text in a later text input?

It is the original code with an addition an a small change. In my second post I only showed the part with the addition and the change. This is the full code. I works fine for me. Oh! I'm not sure what I did wrong the first time, but that definitely works. It'll take some finagling to get it set up ...

Re: Require player-inputed text in a later text input?

Unfortunately, this most recent example isn't quite working. If I use just the code from your second post, it gives me this error: I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "game/script.rpy", line 47, in script show screen login1 File "renpy/common/000statements.rp...

Re: Require player-inputed text in a later text input?

This is not what you are asking for, but it will do the job. Maybe there is something in this you will find useful. I know you gave a disclaimer right at the beginning, so I certainly won't complain too much! Part of your code actually does one major thing I was trying to figure out. Specifically, ...

Require player-inputed text in a later text input?

What I'm trying to do might be a bit complicated. Basically, I want to simulate an account creation. On one screen, players will input their chosen username and password. Later, they can log into a simulated website using said username/password. To accomplish this, there are a few specific things I'...

Re: Monstra City Bakery!! (A Monster Dating Game) [ALL x ALL] [LGBT+ Inclusive]

I love EVERYTHING about this game! The bright and cheery colors, the character designs, the logo, the very fact that you can date such a wide variety of monsters...Plus, I'm always super impressed by any jack-of-all-trades development endeavors. Keep up the amazing work! I am very much looking forwa...

Re: Order a Pizza: A Visual Novel [NaNoRenO2019][Free]

As for Fail 7, it's on the Level where you have to choose between Margot and Abby (level 2) and can make a half and half pizza. You basically have to do everything wrong. Kill Margot and don't get anything Abby wants. AHA! I figured out what I was missing thanks to your guidance. : ) I'd actually a...

Re: Order a Pizza: A Visual Novel [NaNoRenO2019][Free]

I am shocked and appalled that no one has responded here yet! Seriously, I enjoyed playing this game SO MUCH! I even stopped a couple chapters in just so I could go through it WITH my fiance. xD It was an experience that deserved to be shared! I really wasn't expecting how everything ultimately deve...

Re: A resource for novel posting?

For fanfiction, I highly recommend Archive of Our Own (AO3). It's extremely popular (I'd venture to say moreso than Fanfiction.net these days), and folks leave feedback without regard to whether you're new or not. Here's a link: https://archiveofourown.org/ Posting on AO3 isn't a guarantee that you'...

Re: "History" in VNs - do you use it?

I've played a lot of English-localized Japanese visual novels, and they generally don't have the ability to rollback. Thus, the History screen is the only way to view anything you may have missed or just want to re-visit. In my opinion, actually scrolling through the text is substantially more incon...

another option: rewrite the input () screen: That does exactly what I'm looking for! ...Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work in combination with another addition to the input screen I already had in place. x_x Here's the full code: default whoinput = None screen input(prompt, who=whoinput): style...

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?

One punch man...oh my! did the creators see the future of this series beyond the only one season?? 12 episodes for an Anime is quite a disgrace to this amazing world.. i liked the graphics and the monsters were quite something but they forced a hero out of someone whom to me could not take this ser...

Re: renpy.input: Display a character's name, to simulate dialogue?

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you could use a screen, something like that. screen name(namn): text namn xpos 130 ypos 370 color "#00F" (Position, color and what have you, adjusted to what you need.) label firstspell: show screen name("John") $ res = renpy.input( Text( _('"Ju...
