Re: Book on Ren'Py/Python

I agree that the Ren'Py documentation is pretty good if you're already familiar with reading code and want to spend the time. Books are typically written for those that want to solve a problem quickly instead of spending extra time researching. The main problem would be solved with the first book wo...

Book on Ren'Py/Python

Hi guys, As you may already know, in my spare time I write books working on various game engines and programming languages to help introduce new people to game development and how to create certain kinds of projects in a game engine (http://johnpdoran.com/?post_type=publications). I’ve been pushing ...

Re: Visual Novel Platforms that support live2d

I gave a talk at Visual;Conference 2017 that goes over most of the game engines for visual novel development and the pros/cons of each. I believe I mention Live2D under pros if that's useful: http://johnpdoran.com/visualconference-2017/

Good luck with your project!

Re: Visual Novels That Aren't Ren'py, but are Still Just as

Well, I'm currently using Unity but depending on your experience you may not want to dive into that. I actually gave a talk at Visual;Conference 2017 about using different game engines for visual novel development. If you'd like to check it out, you can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Re: Culina: Hands in the Kitchen - Now Available [BxG/BxB]

Ok I feel I suck at games because I can't get past the 3rd goal. I like flexibility when playing. I think you should add another ending incase someone doesn't meet the goal. Like his parents could let him keep 50% of the earned money if he meets the goal. If he doesn't, he only keeps $100. idk. I t...

Hi there! Yes, Dante is the only male romance option in Culina. Perhaps if the game does well we can look into having more in future games! :-)

Re: Culina: Hands in the Kitchen [BxG/BxB]

Is there any reason why we can't pre-purchase Culina on Steam? Hi there! The only reason why would be that I'm unsure how to enable that.... That being said, the game will be coming out in less than an hour now; but if you want to get Culina as soon as possible we are available for pre-order...

Re: How difficult is it to make customiseable protags?

Code-wise, as the others have mentioned, it is fairly easy to do so. The difficult part is getting/making all of the artwork for it (and any CGs you may have those characters in down the road)

Re: Fungus (open source IF / VN program)

It is possible to do so, yes. You'll need to know a bit of coding or do a lot of setup to get it to work properly. You may check out their forums to see if there's any news about it:

Good luck!
