Re: So you want to make art for a Visual Novel: A checklist

going through this list makes me cry a little inside tbh, I notice that a recent trend in otome games is just shiny CGs...? Yura's games aside, there are other games out there with questionable anatomy. Here, a few screencaps from the Otomate's websites: http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt92/info...

Re: The planning and creation of CGs

Ummm CGs are a lot of effort to make and have a lot of impact, so they're definitely best to use in key scenes. What constitutes a key scene would depend on the type of game; for instance, dating sims focus on romance, so I'd want to see pretty CGs of the main character being intimate with the date ...

Re: Drawing backgrounds (tips and hints)

I recommend a book called 'Perspective for Comic Book Artists' by David Chelsea, it was really useful in helping me to understand perspective. I also found these really useful as pre-done perspective lines for photoshop http://fuckingarthowdoesitwork.tumblr.com/post/13378182184/free-perspective-pat...

Re: I Need Your Critiques (Update: I'm Using Your Critiques)

........... you know, I've always thought of animators in the same way as celebrities in that they're a different kind of human being like "okay yeah a group of mad people who can conjure up these amazing graphics exist out there, but they can vomit amazing 3D models and animation because they ...

Re: Drawing backgrounds (tips and hints)

.... l-lmfao I cheat using a program called opencanvas 5.5. orz Here, have a few screenshots: http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt92/inforsythia/colors04/oC_perspective_zpsc9b84fc2.jpg As you can see, there's a nifty feature called perspective under rulers. Now let's see what happens when I, say, p...

Re: I Love You, Brother [FINALLY RELEASED!]

Hahaha, I think the kick that I got from it was because it was such a cliche that it felt like a parody. XD Maybe I'm just too old to sympathise with these sorts of situations, they tend to amuse me more than anything. But they do entertain me in a great way.

Re: I Love You, Brother [FINALLY RELEASED!]

asdfj I just finished it and this was really adorable! I love the dialogue and the humour. My definition of humour might be a bit weird, though; when you later find out that your parents pass away I just cracked up so badly and thought it was great. XD; Everything was cohesive and consistent and flo...

Re: Line of Heroes [GxB][Arabian Night Fantasy]

Cleared the game and got the sisters ending first! It was a bit of a surprise; I guess that was the neutral ending, but to be honest I kept denying the advances of the other male characters as I was too caught up in the SAVING THE WORLD plot and didn't want out-of-place romance to get in the way. XD...

Re: Why Is Photoshop Preferred over Sai for Coloring Sprites

I don't know how to paint with Photoshop so I've used SAI for a while, though I just purchased openCanvas recently and hope to play around with it. |D It's a lot easier to blend/mix colours in painting programs like SAI than Photoshop, in my opinion, although a lot of friends tell me that it's all a...

Re: Why are eroge / hentai games less popular here?

Sort of discovered this thread late but umm I played BL games and loved them for two reasons: gorgeous art and great voice-acting. Voice-acting is big in JVNs, but for some reason almost non-existent in EVNs. No doubt that it's far more difficult to get someone to voice an H game than finding artist...

Re: Question about Japanese audience

Ooo this is an interesting topic that's very relevant to my interests! The Japanese market for video games/manga/animation is huge and well worth tapping into, but foreign penetration seems to be close to impossible. ): I'm not even talking about the language barrier; whenever I browse sites like Pi...
