Re: "Pinning" dialog box & other elements to the bottom of the screen

Okay so you are talking about the quick menu. As suggested above, you can remove it by adding $ quick_menu = False somewhere in your script, likely as the very first thing after label start: Alternatively, you can set the following config to False default quick_menu = True Or you can find the scree...

Re: "Pinning" dialog box & other elements to the bottom of the screen

Can you put up a screenshot of which part you're talking about, preferably circled. I would have said the quick menu as well, but after your latest reply I'm not sure. Here's a Canva illustration I made where I color-coded what needs to be fixed. Pardon the messy placeholders (except Kate, who's fi...

Re: "Pinning" dialog box & other elements to the bottom of the screen

you mean the quick_menu? quick menu is a screen in screens.rpy that has Save, Load, etc buttons and a ``` if quick_menu: ``` if you set quick_menu to False, it will hide. the code to toggle is would be $ quick_menu= not quickmenu ah, if I toggle that, it'll just make the Save/Load buttons visible? ...

Re: "Pinning" dialog box & other elements to the bottom of the screen

Thanks!! Found the section of the manual that deals with this, though I'm trying to find out how to toggle visibility for load/save in addition to the smartphone GUI.

"Pinning" dialog box & other elements to the bottom of the screen

I'd like to keep my dialog box and a few other GUI elements-- main menu button, and phone icon for the smartphone GUI-- displayed on the in-game screen at all times, but searched the manual and can't see how to do this.

Re: Opening fanfare with sound and animated scene, making sounds stop by clicking?

Update: the "stop sound" command works like a charm! Makes those long sound files "clickable" :D

Re: Opening fanfare with sound and animated scene, making sounds stop by clicking?

you cant use gifs inside renpy, videos would work, but there are certain video formats/containers that can only work https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/movie.html. try putting `stop sound` at the end before the return to stop the sound, also better to play long tracks in music channel, so play music 'm...

Opening fanfare with sound and animated scene, making sounds stop by clicking?

Here's the code I currently got in script.rpy before start: #The "splashscreen" label automatically plays before the main menu. label splashscreen: play sound "STFANFARE.ogg" scene splashph with dissolve pause (14.0) #Fanfare sound file is 14 seconds return I'm just using a placeholder image for now...

Re: User input with different correct responses?

Oh, I see what I got wrong! I didn't have my reading glasses on and mistook "in" for "is". Doh. Got it working now, thanks :D

Re: User input with different correct responses?

Tried that and it didn't work. Tried with both single quote (') and double quote (") in the parenthesis, also tried both == and "is", and in both cases it didn't recognize any input. With no parenthesis, it only recognizes the first string but not the others. I'm having a hard time with the correct ...

User input with different correct responses?

I'm having a hard time with the correct conditional for this. So, I have an easter egg in the game where different things can happen based on how the user answers one question. It's written like this: $ correctcolors = "red" and "blue" and "green" $ colorguess= renpy.input("What color was it?") if c...

Re: Changing fonts

So, I'm trying to change the fonts used in the dialog boxes among other things. I've seen screenshots of all these games that use bespoke fonts or other things that clearly aren't default GUI elements, but in defining a new font to use in the games, what happens if players don't have that font inst...

Re: 16 mini game Renpy

This is going to sound like a stupid question but-- I want to use that "Search for Items" minigame, first one in the list. Except that there's no "game.rpy" file in my directory. I have the latest version of the engine and I'm using Editra, is this only in Atom or something? It is not necessary to ...
