The PS2 game was certainly hyped a bit, but the reception at release wasn't great (poor sales, average reviews). The one impressions report (in English) that I've read was rather negative.

Oh well. I'm still interested in trying it myself, but I doubt that'll ever happen.

Has anyone else played this yet?

The game is only partially translated (most of the script except for endings. Player selections/menus haven't been translated, but they're easy to figure out unless you're shooting for the best endings), but I thoroughly enjoyed it last summer. I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more exposure already....
