[Open] Seeking a BG Artist & More for GxB VN
Hello! I’m Red and I am developing a cyberpunk otome visual novel. I posted about this awhile back because I wanted to create this game for OtomeJam, but real life circumstances prevented me from getting as far as I wanted to. I am working hard on it now, however, and have coded the first 7k words i...

[otomejam] Cyberpunk VN looking for GUI Artist, Background Artist, & More
Hello! My name is Ashley and I am entering otomejam for the first time this year with a cyberpunk visual novel about these agents called couriers who move sensitive data offline for paying customers. They traverse their concrete jungle with the help of high-tech neural enhancing bodysuits called ZER...

Re: audio too quiet in game, like it's being suppressed
UPDATE: Well, I was talking to the programmer who coded my GUI and, as it turns out, the graphics were smaller than functionality! So he added an xmaximum value to all of the slider bars to limit the side of that "invisible" bar function and it worked like a charm! So now our sliders look ...

Re: audio too quiet in game, like it's being suppressed
UPDATE: I have been investigating the issue and I've narrowed it down. I decided to make a test game and the audio worked perfectly. If anything, it was too loud. Adjusting the volume slider worked like a charm. I tested out adding just the screens.rpy to the test game and the moment I touched the v...

Re: Programmer looking for Hire [paid]
I hired Bartulisica to code my custom GUI and extra screens, and I am so pleased with the outcome. He worked really quickly, communicated openly and timely, and was so friendly and patient with me (I'm new to Ren'py). He answered all of my questions, was quick about making changes and tweaks, and wa...

audio sliders not functioning [SOLVED]
Hello! I have been developing a demo for my game and I recently put the music in, but the tracks are all very quiet. I double-checked the preferences page that the volume mixer was all the way up, and it was. When I play the tracks outside of the game, they sound plenty loud. But within the game, th...

Sci-fi VN looking for partners
UPDATE: I've found a partner to work with! We are assembling a demo and plan to run a small kickstarter to fund the rest of the game. We have selected artists for all the art roles. But if anyone is interested in helping, feel free to send me an e-mail. Thank you to everyone who has shown their int...

Question About Best Approach to Character Creation
Hello! I am new to Ren'py and making visual novels, but I am trying to learn. I am making a psychological horror/suspense sci-fi visual novel about a crew of Responders who stumble upon what appears to be a derelict alien ship and investigate it. I really want to be able to give the player as much c...

Okay, thank you so much for the response! That's smart to leave yourself that option. I'll pass the information along to my artist.

Art Dimensions Question
Hello! I'm creating my first VN, a sci-fi suspense/psychological horror, with Ren'Py and I'm hiring an artist. I plan to make the game at 1920x1080 resolution. What dimensions should I request my backgrounds, CGs, and character sprites be? I've read the backgrounds should be much bigger than screen ...
