Re: Twinkle Twinkle [GxB][GxG] [Slice-of-Life, Astrology-the

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughtful commentary! It's given me quite a bit to reflect on. (Unfortunately, no real updates on my progress, as I've been pretty busy with NaNoReno!) The art is unique and I like it. The GUI is also very creative (Must have taken forever to make lol) However, there i...

Re: In Delinquency, Discipline, and Disorder [GxB] [BxG]

30px snowflakes look pretty good! Is there any way to add in small dots as well, though? I think that would look better -- snow falls more in clumps, so you wouldn't be seeing individual flakes all the time... The setting has got me intrigued and I'm interested in seeing how living in domed city-sta...

Re: Yesterday Again [GxB][GxG][Dystopian Sci-fi Mystery]

New demo is up! Any commentary would be super helpful, so I can know what to improve on ( anonymous feedback survey here ). :'D So. I took a year-long semi-hiatus to focus on uni applications. It's horrible and I apologise, but, on the bright side, I think I'm in a much better spot than I was a yea...

Re: Summer Found Me [GxB][Slice of life]

/delurks Oh, this is fantastic! I remember playing the demo for this way back in March, so it's really great to see that you've released the final game! Commentary: The custom GUI! The textbox buttons (skip, save, etc.) were very neat and appealing; they weren't very in-your-face, which I very much ...

Re: Jobs

I'm still in high school -- one last year before I get out, how exciting -- but I work part-time as a French tutor, so I have some money to spend on frivolous things. In the future, though, I hope to do something linguistics-related... like be a linguist (trololol, to be young and naive!).

Re: What are you listening to?

A wonderful take on "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" by Frank Pearlstein that I found just recently because I live under a rock. I actually find myself liking his version more than ("boo! hiss!" I know, I know, unspeakable!) the original or Elton John's cover of it.

Re: Yesterday Again [GxB][GxG][Dystopian Sci-fi Mystery]

I've been MIA for a while. Basically, I shelved away "Yesterday Again" to focus on some other things (explanation here for those who might be interested because reasons). BUT LOOK WHO'S BACK HURRAH. With some changes! See main post for details (more ranty, in-depth commentary at my devblog...

Re: Innovation vs Quality vs Fun: Which is more important

I don't think innovation is quite so important. There's a reason why the tried-and-true methods are as they are, and I guess people are just more comfortable with familiar types of gameplay. SO, I'd say it's a toss-up between quality and fun. Quality because I'm a real grammar nerd and I like well-w...

Re: Yesterday Again [GxB][GxG][Dystopian Sci-fi Mystery]

I'm not entire sure what you mean. I did a couple of web searches ("bioware personality creation" and then "...character creation"), but the most relevant result I could find was a wiki page on MC customization in Dragon Age Origins. Do you want the player to alter your MC's app...

I would really like to hear a bit more about your opinions on choices and branching and that sort of thing. If you could point out a couple specific moments or examples (of what I did do or didn't do or could have done), I really think it would help me with future games. One more thing: which endin...

Re: Perfect Chemistry

I'm surprised that no one has commented on this yet! "Perfect Chemistry" is quite nice and entertaining. Stuff I particularly enjoyed: the writing (and dialogue) very engaging and I liked Cammy's character, although I thought she was a bit too naïve at times. the university setting, which ...
