Re: [OPEN] [Paid] Experienced English-Spanish translator
VSS_Valdez translated the Budacanta demo into Spanish and comes highly recommended for a professional approach and creating sentences that flow well. The work arrived early, accurately and in a good format. (The translation is in the late stages of beta-testing along with translations in other langu...

Re: [OPEN] [PAID] [ENGLISH/BAHASA (Indonesian)] translator for hire!
EnajoriYui has just finished translating the Budacanta visual novel demo into Indonesian Bahasa (I will update this post with the link when it is updated with the translation - and a language selector). Asks good questions, communicates clearly and eager to understand as much as possible about the c...

Re: [OPEN][PAID][Spanish/English/Norwegian] Translator, Editor, Proofreader for hire!
Nis is has just finished translating my visual novel demo, Budacanta, into Norwegian. An easy and straightforward translator to work with.

Re: [OPEN][PAID] Translators - any language - requested for demo (Budacanta)
JiminyAmusements, the demo is 24,668 words. I expect there to be more game available later on to translate, but I don't plan to recruit anyone to translate the rest of the game until I've written it in the first place - and translating the demo places no obligation on any translator to translate the...

Re: [OPEN][PAID] Translators - any language - requested for demo (Budacanta)
Thank you for the kind offer. Indonesian Bahasa is already being covered by EnajoriYui, but if you are able to do any of the other Indonesian languages (there being over 700 in Indonesia), I would be interested.

[CLOSED][PAID] Translators - any language - requested for demo (Budacanta)
I have a demo of a to-be-commercial visual novel called Budacanta that I would like translating from English into... ...other languages. Languages for which I have a translation arrangement: English Polish (thank you, Angie) Indonesian Bahasa (thank you, EnajoriYui) Hungarian (thank you, friend who ...

Re: Give the player freedom to manage time?
Also, I can't tell how your time system works because the game freezes on my computer after the first text box (which is probably before the time system does anything). Press the top left arrow to exit the intro scene OK, that enabled me to get past the introduction. Time is moving even when I'm no...

Re: Give the player freedom to manage time?
Thank you so much for your detailed reply! Sorry I was busy with finals and couldn't respond. I think (like me) you should use a library to keep track of time, rather than incrementing them (and checking them) manually since you won't have to take care of so many edge cases. Sorry, I don't understa...

Re: Should I release incomplete visual novel now?
Consider starting with a devlog (developer log), rather than releasing the game at this point. You can have some "Today I Did" updates in the beginning (it's more important to have material regularly than for them to be long), either using a social media page or (better) a cheap/free web p...

Re: How can you judge what is a "reasonable amount of time" to be working on a game?
One way to "scale back" is to reduce the amount of content to be made: Complete the plot outline if you can. Figure out the minimum amount of plot, dialogue sprites, backgrounds, music etc. to have an acceptable visual novel. Make it. Look at the content, the amount of time spent, the stat...

Re: How can you judge what is a "reasonable amount of time" to be working on a game?
It helps if you're far enough into this project to know what your current speed is doing this specific project. As far as I'm concerned, if you don't have a demo, or a similarly substantial amount of game done, it's too early to be setting a time expectation. Once you've been at it a while and have ...

Re: How can I get volunteers to make faster progress on a game?
If you all agree to the plan, you should only need to do one reminder at most (probably the day before), and even this is optional provided that everyone has the meeting information. That reminder should be quick and to the point (i.e. not like my forum posts ;) ). It doesn't sound like you have tho...

Re: Give the player freedom to manage time?
The visual novel I'm developing tracks 24 hours independently of system time... ...though at the moment the demo has a bug/quirk where it is possible to have a 26-hour day when using the computer. (Guess what I'm currently troubleshooting? Also, guess who's planning on having most "days"' ...

Re: How can I get volunteers to make faster progress on a game?
The tricky part here is that they are volunteers. If no concrete written expectations were set at the very beginning, adjusting to an expectation increase is difficult - and risks getting the response of voluntary effort being withdrawn. This applies even if they want to help you and like the concep...
