Re: [OPEN][REVSHARE][CG, BG, UI] Recruiting for a dystopian VN set in future SK

Recruitment is still open.
Not much progress has been made since the thread was open, but my goal is now to resume the development of the game and release it in this first or second quarter of this year.

[OPEN][REVSHARE][CG, BG, UI] Recruiting for a dystopian VN set in future SK

Hi there! I'm Epschy, a writer with 1 year of expirience, and I'm looking for volunteers to help with my new dystopian, short visual novel. Story: in the near future, South Korea is now a dystopia: it has become the world's biggest economy, overthrowing the US and China, but that came with a cost. S...

Writers, are you also "sponges"?

Writers, how can I avoid being a sponge? I've noticed that my writing style is highly influenced by whatever work I most recently read. This is true, for example, in my most recent novel, which has a lot of slapstick comedy even though I hate novels or animes that uses this element. The VN I've rea...

Re: Why a visual novel?

I'm someone who enjoys working on creative projects relatively solo! With that, it's important to choose a medium that takes advantage of the skills you already have. I enjoy writing and drawing, and although I have very little coding experience, Ren'Py is very comprehensible and accessible, at lea...

Re: Why a visual novel?

The medium can be spread much better than just a novel. We're lucky that we (my gf and I) can both write interesting stuff, I can code, and she can illustrate amazingly. So we combine all these skills and end up with an amazing game (we hope) and 0 marketing xD Also even linear VNs have a higher re...

Why a visual novel?

Fellow VN writers, I'm curious to know what makes you choose visual novel as the format you tell your story in, rather than other mediums such as regular novels. What stories do you think fits VNs the best? What kind of stories you think are better to keep as regular novels, and do you read and writ...

Re: Is the “it was all a dream” trope generally disliked?

I don't think I've read many works using this trope, and I can understand why many people hate it so much. However, as SeiLi mentioned, I think that if used correctly, the plot device can work. For example, I have been writing a novel in which a character commits suicide, get's isekai'd, searches fo...

Re: I need some help for this school life settings novel pleasee

I usually decide to watch a show or read a book based on this characteristics (order: moster important characteristics firts): 1) Genres I feel like reading at the time - Sometimes I want to read a story-heavy novel with drama and phylosofical questions, sometimes I want to read a comedy to recover ...

Re: Facing it - A Visual Novel About Loss (made for O2A2)

I played the game and despite not being able to sympathize with the character's emotions (it seems that others have, so it must be a personal thing), I loved the idea of using simple backgrounds. It allows you to focus solely on the text and what it is trying to convey. Given you decided to focus o...
