Re: Lemmasoft Forum Icon

I do wonder why the forum hasn't been updated, to be honest. phpBB has newer versions of this software out, including a new default skin which would make the forums much tidier in a way and more functional. I'm not sure what version phpBB this is but I know they're on 3.8 now and I think this might ...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Still a noob artist, and likely to stay a noob artist for a long time, but I bought a cheap tablet and it came today so here's a few scribblings :) Better than my pencil work anyway, imo and it took a lot less time. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/12345rachael/firstdrawing.png http://i6.photob...

Re: Ideas Dump

I've got an idea floating around my head, based on my own experiences. It's sort of a GxG story - not really a traditional one though - and it's more about the characters. It's about two girls who become friends online. Over a period of three years they become very close, they know everything about ...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Thanks for all the advice guys! @Ren: I think you're right in saying it could be made looser. I just drew a basic character stood there since I just wanted to try and get a feel for actually getting some of the more basic aspects right, but I'll have a try at drawing some different poses soon. I do ...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

I'm not an artist, but I thought I'd have a try at drawing and colouring my own characters. I don't have a tablet or anything so I drew on paper then scanned in ect... I know they're not brilliant but advice on how to improve might help ^_^ http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/12345rachael/girlprac...

Re: Would this work as an Art Style?

Well I was hoping that I'd be able to work it as more than just a comedy VN, since I can't particularly write comedy :P Umineko and Higurashi are my inspiration and I like to think that you can use any art style in a Visual Novel as long as the writing is solid enough... I guess more of a drama/acti...

Re: In what form do you write?

I just write directly in Renpy and use comments for anything extra I need. Once I've written the script in Renpy, I'll copy and paste into a doc for spell checking then copy it back to Renpy.

Re: Art programs

I was all ready to get CS3/4 whatever it was only to find that it didn't support Vista Home Basic so I've stuck with Paint Shop Pro 9 ever since. I feel like the only person in the world using PSP, but I've been using it for such a long time I don't want to change :P

Would this work as an Art Style?

I can't draw for my life, but over the years I've learned to make sort of Powerpuff like characters. I started back when the Potterpuffs were getting famous in the fandom and I wanted to be able to make them too. While the style isn't exactly the same, it's been rather adapted, it's still character ...

Re: Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Yeah, I did mean ep 6 :P
It could mean that, but I hate Shkanon (and now Shkanontrice) theories even though they've been quite heavily alluded to in the VN's. Then again, Ruyukishi is one to pull a fast one on us so if he's pointing towards Shkanon, then it probably isn't :P

I did *kind of* think of that, but it would move everything into different places in regards as to where you select them from. Even so, it might be something worth looking at - thanks :)

Re: Help! Teens Are Using Digital Drugs to Get High

Lulz... I've actually seen these before. I remember trying the Vicodin one a a bit back (y'know, so I could be cool like House) and all it did was make me feel a bit numb... I think that a lot of it comes from the placebo effect, though tbh.

Re: A Writer's Dillemma

I tend to just write it as I code with a vague idea of where things are going. Makes things more interesting when you let the plot twist and turn as you think it up. However, for a different VN, I am planning a vague chapter by chapter thing of what must go on in each section. I'm never been a big o...

Re: Newbie question: Art or writing? Which is more important

With some VN's, the music is essential. I would never dream of playing Higurashi or Umineko without music!
