Re: 40 minutes to eternity

I really can't say which girl I liked best as they both grew on me pretty quickly. At first I kinda felt like Claire was a bit bland but she's actually a sweetheart so... Both are very different and likeable and I really appreciated the lack of forced drama (as Aidan walked with Victoria smiling, I...

Re: 40 minutes to eternity

My only wish was that the characters had some more expressions but besides that it was a fun came. Good Job :) I tried, but the results were unsatisfactory. I'm not that great at drawing since I focused primarily on writing; after messing up a few times I gave up. I'm really glad you liked it. I th...

Re: 40 minutes to eternity

Waaahh.. This kind of bitter ending.. i like it very much... Hope they are doing well together in another place.. *sob.. :( Shh. I'm glad you like the art, I was a bit anxious about it since I just started drawing with a tablet several months ago and have been going through a few styles, trying to ...

40 minutes to eternity

The story was on my mind and I decided that a visual novel made in one afternoon didn't do it justice. Since I couldn't find anybody willing to draw it for me I decided to take the matter into my own hands and be both artist and writer for this one. Needless to say, it took a long time. In any case,...

Re: Questions on Romance VNs

1. How do you make two people fall in love in such a short time frame? In one of the pairings, I'm basically asking one of them to leave their whole life behind for them to be together. Even considering youth and naivete, that's a lot to ask. I'll make a relatively bold statement and say that shock...

Re: What would you consider as NOT cliche/stereotypical?

Well, you see, stereotypes are difficult to avoid and, in truth, do you want to avoid them? You could make the story of a handicapped old man in his 80's that suffers from Alzheimer and is trying to save the world, but periodically forgets what he was doing. Still, do you want that? You don't need t...

Re: What do you guys feel about bad words on games?

Well, as a player I don't mind unless it's overly used. Some bad words are simply used for emphasis, losing their original meaning completely. "Fuck off" doesn't translate to " Sexual intercourse off", it's simply a more aggressive way of saying "go away". Still, it dep...

Re: Interactive Fiction Writers Critique Group

My suggestion would be 5000 words; is that possible? I don't want to force my pace on others so if it's too much, that's alright. The problem I have is that I've already written half the prologue and at a 2k wordcount/2 weeks, it would take about 2 months to get to where I'm at right now.

Re: Interactive Fiction Writers Critique Group

I like how this sounds, but is the wordcount limited to 2000? It's a bit less than I'm used to.

Re: POV shift

Well, my main character tends to do some crazy disappearance acts once in a while in which the POV shifts to another character anyway; what I was wondering was if I should give the character choices. Not really action choices, but more like choices that lead the girls to think about their relationsh...

POV shift

Ok, so I was struck by an idea while writing. The prologue to my story is written from the point of view of one of the heroines that the main character can fall in love with. As such, I didn't think I could slide in any choices, but then I thought about it and asked myself 'Why not?' So what I've th...

Wow, thanks for the replies, I'm really glad you enjoyed it. It was a very valuable experience for me; it was a lot more... time consuming than I thought. Thanks for pointing out those mistakes, they seem pretty obvious now that you've mentioned them, but I couldn't see them before :D

Fourty minutes to eternity

A pleasant scent rises from the cup of steaming tea I hold just under my nose. A moment of serenity, allowed to me, even though I don’t deserve it; a moment I should be thankful of. I drink some of the tea, feeling its bitter taste; it’s not that I particularly like it bitter, but just this once, I...
