Oh, I see!maryeliezka wrote:To get another bad end, You need to visit certain location for x times.
I actually thought it might be that, but I just hadn't visited the location enough times. I think x might be too high? I think having to visit it two or three times would get more people.

I can't wait to play this! I love slice of life stories, and now that I'm getting older (wah! where have the years gone?), I really appreciate playing games about older characters. So - I am a big fan of the concept.

Re: NaNoReno 2016 General Recruitment Thread
Hey guys, I'm an editor/proofreader! If you're translating your script into English from another language, if you think the grammar might be a little patchy in some places, or you'd just like another pair of eyes looking over your dialogue for typos, let me know! I'd love to help make your game grea...

Re: The Ghost on The Shore[Nanoreno 2016] [Horror]
I liked it! Short and sweet and a little bit spooky, just the way I like my horror games. I really liked the friendship between the two boys, & the storyline. I got almost all the endings, but I couldn't get the second Bad End. The Bad End I got was the one where you run away when the ghost firs...

Re: How do you guys plan/write bad endings?
I guess I hadn't seriously considered having no "bad" endings, but now that I'm thinking about it, it's true that some of the VNs I've played haven't had any, & it didn't detract from the game at all. I definitely don't want to shoehorn anything in. Thanks for all the advice, guys, it'...

I just played through William's route...very cute! I only got one of his endings ("Employee of the Year", I think? I also got the spy ending on my first try  and a bankrupt ending  ...at least I got one good ending!) , but I'll probably play again later to try get the other two (...

How do you guys plan/write bad endings?
I've been working on a short game, and everything was going well until I suddenly realised I haven't planned any bad ends for the game. As a player, I find it disappointing when I reach a bad end, but I know other players really enjoy them, and I feel like they're almost necessary for a visual novel...

Re: Choices in Kinetic Novels
oh huh, ok. I thought it was more of a sliding scale, rather than a binary, but that makes sense!
I might just see what happens when I write the script, then. the plan doesn't have any choices, so I won't try to shoehorn them in.

Choices in Kinetic Novels
Recently I've played two games I'd classify as pretty much KNs - one storyline, no routes, but with a couple of choices. The choices didn't lead to different endings, but more like....failing/succeeding at the current scene. If you fail, you just try again until you pick the correct choice. Now I'm ...

really into how out of focus the faces are, it adds to the whole ~mysterious~ feeling about your game
