Re: College Romance II - Rise of the Little Brother
So here's the problem in a nutshell - I wrote the story, did the programming, and provided the background art. The folks at Winter Wolves paid for the character art, and handled publishing and running ads. At this point it would be difficult to setup to sell it again since they've moved on and would...

Re: College Romance II - Rise of the Little Brother
While I created the script and did the programming and backgrounds, Tycoon Games provided the character art and had the distribution rights. So even if I could find an old copy I'm not sure I'd be allowed to give it to you. Sorry

Re: Can one create a game using RenPy on ChromeOS or iOS?
OK, appreciate the info. Figured the distro would need a "full fledged" OS, but if I can't even run for test, then I suspect I will need to consider something with a bit more oomph to replace my Chromebook Plus. Thanks!

Can one create a game using RenPy on ChromeOS or iOS?
Or to put it another way, is it possible to use a Pixelbook or iPad Pro to program a RenPy game? I presume to actually do the build for Android I would still have to move the finished game back to a PC, but would love to be able to work on the road or at least away from home.
TIA,
Ewan

New Tool - WordsEye - Worth Checking Out
Recently was invited to a beta of a tool I figured other VN authors might be interested in. It's called WordsEye: https://www.wordseye.com/ Basically it allows you to define a scene, and then it will match key words and phrases to build the scene in 3d. Probably more use for building backgrounds sin...

Re: Background Usage Help?
Thank you very much! I was worried that due to the fame of the depicted images, there would be legal problems even if there were Creative Commons. My work is non-commercial, and I was not sure how to proceed in case people notice the familiarity of the scenery. Thank you! While there may not be a l...

Re: DEVN 2014 - Demographics of the EVN Community
I personally would find it interesting if there were also a question to ask what language/engine folks are using to develop in. While we ALL know that the cool kids use RenPy (none of my VNs would have been possible without it), I'd be curious to see if the overall market is doing so as well. One wa...

Re: What's your reason for making a visual novel? Since when
For me, I had just started getting into Anime (around the time Haruhi first came out), and somehow found my way to a link for the English translation of "The Sagara Family". Playing through it felt like living in an Anime, and I wanted more. There weren't many english translated VNs at the...

Re: PR nightmare: When indie devs are attacked
There is nothing you can do in life that won't subject you to criticism. I've been riding a bike to and from work since December, and almost daily I hear from drivers that I should be on the sidewalk (illegal in my city and many others), that I should get a car so I can keep up with traffic (if they...

Option to Override Windows Display Setting?
One of the things I had been enjoying about Win 8.1 is that on the Display options it has a slider to let you apply a global magnification to everything that displays. To see it right click on the desktop, select Personalization, and click on Display where you will then see a slider under the header...

Still working to finalize the Desktop versions (looking for a Wed or Thurs release). But the Demo versions are working fine. So for a sort of "private" release, I have links to all the demos listed at the following post: http://nawegr.blogspot.com/2013/01/alta-texas-demo-version-for-window...

Re: Alta, Texas - Bx5G - Slice of Life - Updated 1/11/2013
I agree on Pytom, I am very cautious and paranoid about Windows, and the future seems totally grim, and that's the main reason why I'm doing the HTML5 version of my games right now. In 5-6 years MIGHT become the only way to distribute games directly, without any restriction on content (a game like ...

Re: Integration with PyBrain?
Or, to give the specific example I'm thinking of, there was a study done a couple of years ago (talked about in a BBC article) on a questionnaire a social scientist came up with to foster closeness. So I would train a NN with a Tsundere personality, a Imouto personality, etc - and then the game has ...
