Re: Super Otome Quest [GxB][NaNoRenO 2012]
Glad everyone is enjoying the game. Especially when placed next to each other, when it looks like Keith is staring at Victoria's breasts. This was a coincidence, believe it or not. However I feel it probably adds to the comedic effect of the whole thing. I want an ending with the Captain of the Ches...

Super Otome Quest [GxB][NaNoRenO 2012]
Super Otome Quest Greetings LSF forumgoers! I've come out of my seclusion in the Canadian Rockies to deliver Polymorphic's previously unannounced 2012 NaNoRenO entry. Since GxB games seem popular, we decided that this would be a perfect opportunity to make our own. In this game, the player's goal i...

Re: Your *New* Ren'Py Account
I, for one, welcome our new Ren'Py account overlords. While posting to Twitter is fun, I found it was ultimately too easy for players' followers to completely ignore text they had no interest in. With the new achievement system, players will be able to more visibly spam their friends with informatio...

Re: Opinions on Fantasy Terminology
I expect that if a work of fiction is set in a fantasy setting, there will be some unique terminology introduced, and that the inhabitants of the settings will have traditions that may need to be explained to the outside observer (reader, player, etc.) either directly or through "showing" ...

Re: NaNoRenO 2011: Mobile Food Madness
Uhmmm, was about my idiotic rant on my previous post? I didn't find it idiotic, I just wanted to emphasize that players shouldn't feel like they are doing something wrong if it requires multiple tries to get the best ending. There are no hints as to what works the best, so it's all trial and error....

Re: NaNoRenO 2011: Mobile Food Madness
Some comments on difficulty: Don't feel disheartened if it takes a few different attempts to "win." Aside from the miscommunication between myself and DarkSpartan, which resulted in the "best" ending being too easy (now corrected), the game is designed around using trial and erro...

Re: Why are NVG not as well recieved as RPG in USA?
This is a question I've given much thought to in the past, but I think that it makes an assumption about how popular visual novels actually are in Japan. I would be willing to wager, though I do not have the sales numbers, that typical RPG releases are likely to have significantly higher sales figur...

Re: Adding all stats as a group?
You could do this multiple ways to make it easier on yourself. One easier way would be to store values in a dictionaries. For a simplified example, we have two characters: Bob and George. We initialize them at the very start of the script. $ truth = {'Bob': 0, 'George': 0} $ lies = {'Bob': 0, 'Georg...

Re: Cardgame framework question
It was part of the "unglued" set, which was a parody set. It was not a tournament legal set, IIRC. It was a parody of Chaos Orb . There was an urban legend that someone won a game in a tournament match by tearing up their Chaos Orb and sprinkling the pieces all over their opponent's cards....

Re: Video Game Voter's Network
FYI, the supreme court heard arguments on this today: http://www.scotusblog.com/2010/11/argument-recap-common-sense-and-violence/ I got mixed feelings from the transcript. It seems that the Justices show genuine concern over the broad language used by the California law, and I feel that they may de...

Re: Cardgame framework question
It really depends on the details of the TCG. A simple card game (like the one in Princess Waltz) would probably be easy to create. But, from what I understand, it's hard-to-impossible to code the rules of Magic: The Gathering. (I wouldn't want to be the guy who had to implement Chaos Confetti .) Th...

Re: Hmm refreshing variables?
and inside the main self block. i just declared all of those equipment items as the same "sword.weapon" just to see if it worked. I am shocked and want to know why this does work, because it seems it shouldn't due to the nature of the class tags. (going from weapon to another item such as...

Re: Hmm refreshing variables?
Even though all of those references ended up referring to the same exact object, you are accessing the value of the str attribute and adding it up several times. When you do this in Python, you expect that the value printed will be 2. x = 1 print(x + x) Likewise, you expect that the value printed at...

yeah i can really seeing the POWER. XD Though it seems to be backfiring on me. I altered my code as such: init python: class weapon: def __init__(self, str_bonus): self.str_bonus = str_bonus sword = weapon(0) class basestats: def __init__(self, lv, hp, name, str, agi, stm, int, foc, armor, elefire,...
