Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?

When it comes down to it, I usually play male characters. I don't have a clear reason for it, but I guess I can just relate more as guy playing as a guy character. It's not an exclusive thing, I sometimes just go random and play female for no reason. I did that when playing Dragon Age II, and a few ...

Re: Diablo III - Who plays it?

Because of my year contract with Blizzard, I got the came for free. Playing it, I came in expecting more a dungeon crawl with various levels of dungeon diving. The game is solid, but the crawling mechanics make it feel shallow. I never had to go any deeper than 4 levels in any dungeon, so it felt to...

Re: Magical Diary on Steam!

Hanako definitely deserves it. I've been wondering why her games haven't gotten on Steam before this, seeing as how they are more gameplay oriented than most VNs. I've already bought Magical Diary, but I'm tempted to buy it again on Steam just to show my support of Valve embracing VNs. ... I am for...

Re: That Cheap and Sacred Thing - Drama/Sci-fi

Well let's get this review off. Music: Decent but certainly nothing that drags it down or lifts it up. It did it's duty to set the tone for the story and I can't hate or love it. The ending music was perfect, I will say that. Graphics: Very well done, though some of the art felt mishmashed with diff...

Re: Japanese words

I don't think I've heard "Fraeulein" used before, but maybe it's more popular in America. I agree that English translations don't need Japanese suffixes, but things like "mademoiselle" strike me as being sorta the same thing as "senpai" and the like. I don't think I've...

Re: Japanese words

-Mademousselle (sp?) if you want more flair, Fraeulein in the same vein. Those two are French and German, I believe. It's French. The French-language equivalent of "miss" (ma = "my" + demoiselle = "little lady" or "my girl") Which is diffrent from Madam. Mada...

Re: How much are you willing to pay for a game?

I think the average length of a game and the price should be related to each other. Though at a certain point you can't charge a 100 hour game for 100 bucks. If a game is five dollars and can run me for a few days, then it's a good buy. A 15 dollar game would be something around a week to two weeks ...

Re: Race in Visual Novels

I think that race in anything like video games, movies etc. Is not something to think too deep about. It is an element to consider but it's more of a minor one to think of, much like what car a person is driving. You could do a visual novel about cars and focus on that i.e. Chevy/Ford wars or the Ri...

Re: [NaNoRenO '11] Anton's Vacation {Episode Zero}

I think Ellume is right on. I am not asking for the Sci-fi theme to be removed. I like it, just there was not enough for my inner sci-fi fanboy to shut up. You are on the right track. Sci-fi does not always have to be about epic star battles or laser guns. A slice of life like this can fit easily. I...

Mist from the Rune Factory games. That was one of the few women where I wanted to strangle out of sheer stupidity. The woman had nothing going for her and if did decide to marry her, she gives you a bag of flour for lunch....bah.

1. American English
2.Latin Spanish (Three years of collective training and all I can recall is how to greet, ask for the bathroom and say what I like.)
3. Japanese ( Mix of self training and too much anime/J Drama subs. Nowhere close to speaking or even reading the stuff.)

Re: [NaNoRenO '11] Anton's Vacation {Episode Zero}

So I finished this episode 0 with a bit of mix feelings. On one, hand I enjoyed the character developments and it gave a solid experience, yet several elements of the game just did not work well with each other. Namely the story itself and the music, which I will try to explain.. The overall story i...

Re: Digital: A Love Story

I have to say I am an hour into this game and must say it is very intresting. I never knew how the BBS worked back in the day. I came online around the 95 era and started on a windows 3.3. If what goes on the game is true for how it was to pass messages back in the day, that must have been quite the...
