Re: Great Web-Based Story Planning Program

Just had a play around with this and it does seem easy and effective to use, thank you!

Re: What do you want to know about Japan?

Most of the coverage we get on tv here tends to focus on either gadgets and technology, or very traditional design..such as architecture, kimonos, gravel gardens, flower arranging etc. Since getting involved with the community here I know more about manga. I'm more interested in how people live thei...

Re: 3D CUSTOM GIRL - Thoughts?

I have never used poser, but what you are describing sounds like it could be compared to a quick sketch using 2d materials? In terms of effectiveness in telling a story I mean. It sounds like a valid way to go if you were a beginner for instance, and you were keen to try out making a visual novel. N...

Wonderful involving and unique storyline. The ending is really moving, and I loved the artwork.
Outstanding!

Re: 3D CUSTOM GIRL - Thoughts?

Lol! Lazy way to do your CGs If only it were true. If you want to go the 3D route then do so because you love it. Same for 2d drawing. That way it won't feel like as much work. @dramspringfeald If you really want to get people to draw the more cunning plan would be to sell the aspects of that route ...

Re: 3D CUSTOM GIRL - Thoughts?

I think artists are more forgiving of amateurish 2D art, in the same way that musicians are more forgiving of amateur musicians because they are interested anyway, know what it takes to become proficient and can spot potential. 3D artists are more forgiving of amateurish 3D art for the same reasons....

At the moment, the only way to collect missed objects is to restart the game, which doesn't feel that satisfactory .. ...

Re: Ginny's Shoes (working title) [fairytale adventure][roma

At the moment the items collected are needed to progress to the next part of the story....but that's more of a logical thing rather than a 'grab this out of the inventory'. So the character sees a particular door, but she if only offered the opportunity to open it once she has the key. At one point ...

Re: Game resolution

1024x576? I'm trying this for my current game. I figure that those with the shiniest equipment tend to shout loudest, but those with slower systems will just download gratefully without much comment. Hopefully 1024 x 576 won't be too much of a performance hike from 800 x 600 but will show better on...

Re: Ginny's Shoes (working title) [fairytale adventure][roma

Thanks for your responses, I really appreciate them all! @ Anna ...I think the concepts may seem a bit bare as I am at the outline stage of drafting out the story. Once I get into writing dialogue and connect with the emotions of the characters then (hopefully) the love stories will interweave more ...

Re: Idea: The BxG/Bishoujo Project (?)

Why not go shorter, instead of longer...as shorter less complex projects are more likely to be finished.
Makeit a mini BxG contest...what can you do with 5,000 words or less?

Re: Where are the BxGs?

Squee = social glue Can be annoying, but if you manage to scrape it off completely things become unstuck. Today's 'oh so cool' commentator can be tomorrow's developer once their confidence rises. I'm getting the feeling - at least from some creators - that what we're doing is harming VN creation. It...

Finish...the polished look of the graphics....I was so impressed with the shading etc on the pencil in particular, it was very subtle and effective.
I wondered of you had used a vector program for that.

Re: 4 Textbox Sets [public domain]

Thank you, these are so useful to learn from....you seem to have the knack of anticipating what I need :)
I am really impressed with the finish you have achieved on the pencil style boxes, which program did you use to create those?
