Re: [WIP] Kiss from Cupid- updated demo~

Well, I haven't updated in a while- a month- to due midterms and some issues figuring out the programming. Still, it's about time I put some sort of update in, so here's the new characters for the second chapter~! http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f338/AbraxanAndromeda/scarlett.png Scarlett : Art-ob...

Re: Minor DSE issue.

There probably is a better way of managing it. I've been using it to define set periods certain events can run in. The original file has those determined by a choice variable for the period, so I'm trying to find a way of setting the variable for each period at game start, or eliminate the need for ...

Re: Need for volunteer native english editor (100k text).

I am somewhat interested, if only for the practice.
The included Russian phrases are useful, though you might want to leave some more of them in. It'll help people picking English words to decide the tone.

Minor DSE issue.

I've been tinkering with the dating sim engine for a few days now, and I've figured out most of my issues with using the events without calling up the day planner. The only issue I'm still having is setting a variable to true at all times without calling up the day planner. If it is possible, how ca...

Re: do we need a Ren'py maker with a user-friendly interface

Coming from someone whose entire coding experience comes from ren'py (and playing with html and css five years ago, but I was awful at that), it's not a difficult system to pick up. The tutorial on the main site covers anything a person new to coding would need, and anything more advanced can be fou...

Re: A question on play time.....

In general, provided the game stays engaging, people are willing to invest pretty much any amount of time. Think all the professional rpgs that play out at over forty hours. That said, for you first project, you're better off starting with a shorter game and expanding it after you have a working ver...

Re: [WIP] Kiss from Cupid

I'm glad that works ^^
Art's the one thing I'm really worried about, because if people do have an issue with it, there's not much I can do to fix it.

Re: [WIP] Kiss from Cupid

Yay, proper update~! Demo's been re-released. At least 80% of the pacing problems are gone, the sprites have different expressions, if not poses, and the coding's tidied up a bit. Anyone who's played the first demo, please let me know which parts were improved and possibly, which were better left al...

Re: Notions: a short romance between two lost people.

Completely just found this thread over a year later. Amazing what you find clicking people's signature links.
The story's incredibly sweet, and a good short read. Looking forward to seeing the newer version of it soon~

DynamicDisplay/ConditionSwitch Issues {solved!}

I know this is me messing up the script to run the image change, I'm just not too clear how to correct it. I have the main character image set as: $ f = Character( 'Freya', color="#B3476F", show_two_window=True, window_left_padding=140, show_side_image=ConditionSwitch( "'freya' == 'neutral'", "freya...

Re: [WIP] Kiss from Cupid

When it comes to asking for help, I'm not too keen on doing it until I know what exactly my issue with it is. I'm past wanting to throw a tantrum every time I go to open it though, so I should be able to figure it out/know enough to ask questions in a few days. I'm glad the doll set blends in well e...

Re: [WIP] Kiss from Cupid

It's the first game I've tried to make beyond one test scene.
I'll definitely try to keep it simple for the meantime though.
Of course, if I can figure out the event code and get the main storyline finished, I'm not promising there won't be a dozen side stories and arcs twisted into it~

Re: [WIP] Kiss from Cupid

It's what I get for taking my placeholders so seriously. There's a character I created purely for the sake of using one song. As for the number of obtainable guys, I've been playing with possible storylines and character ideas and decided that one is more than enough. As it is, there's nearly thirty...

Re: Fourty minutes to eternity

Just played through the script. Definitely love the story itself. Only minor issues really with the script. The last scene with Celeste has to be the best scripted out part of the whole thing. The pacing's smooth, but not so slow you lose interest. Quite a few of the other scenes- particularly when ...
