Re: Heart's Hollow: Dating Sim Game With Bite

Oh wow, I love what I'm seeing so far. This is fantastic! The 3D style is perfect, infact I didn't even know it was 3D until I watched your Kickstarter video! Not only that, the game play and characters seem like a ton of fun... It's wonderful that you can go after any of the love interests no matte...

Re: Anyone good at hands?

You can easily learn to draw them yourself... Check out this tutorial here: http://alexds1.deviantart.com/art/Hand-tutorial-83785318 Notice at the end of tutorial he recommends referencing from photos- that's very helpful when it comes to all kinds of anatomy. Here's another tutorial on male anatomy...

Re: For $1000 you too can have a replicator...

I've seen those in action, they're AMAZING! You can recycle the materials you use too to make new things... The most awesome thing is that with certain ones you can scan something molecule by molecule and it'll reproduce it perfectly! Even something complicated like a adjustable wrench can be printe...

Re: Making the Graphics of Faery Tale

Very pretty style :) to be honest though I really like the background at stage 5 the best; without the lines. The lines are a bit much for a background imo. I think if you just added the final step (lights) to stage 5 it would look perfect. :) Good idea with the outline effect on characters! It's fu...

Re: Developing a visual novel engine

I wonder why so many programmers come to our forums to say they're going to make a "new" vn engine... What's the point, really? Both Ren'py and Novelty offer great vn making solutions that are easy to use. Their developers work their butts off for years to get where they are now; it's not ...

Re: Visual Novel Trailers

To make something similar to the last two you posted you could use a more simple video editing software like Pinnacle Studio or Adobe Premiere Elements, which you can buy for about $60-$100 USD. I use Pinnacle, it's quite nice for effects. However, to make something more complicated (like the traile...

Re: Just my question about the market

English is an international language, so it's natural that many people would make their games solely English. There are a lot of people here from all around the world and one thing that we all have in common is being able to understand English (it's actually this forum's policy to write your posts i...

Re: Art Tip: Drawing ACTUAL males

The best tip is really to study from life and read good anatomy books such as Bridgman's "Drawing from life" or Stephen Rogers Peck's "Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist". Both books heavily focus on male anatomy.

Re: Attempting to standardize my colouring... Need opinions.

I prefer the first one. However, some critique: The shading in general seems scribbled on, there's no order in the way that you're shading. Try smoothing it out a bit by using as few strokes as possible while keeping with the light source. It also saves you time to do simple strokes instead of tryin...

Re: DSE Plus - "The Game"

Hmm, the newer background seems a little less colorful... The nice thing about the first one was that it had more atmosphere due to the sunlight gradient you added on top. I suggest adding a little more effects to make it more atmospheric. I love the new sprite style, though in honesty it could bene...

Re: What is your religion?

Religion is a very emotional subject... Having an answer for what happens after death, the rewards of heaven/paradise and the definitions of "good" and "bad" can easily be twisted for a person's agenda (especially a person in power such as a king or other leader), but, in many ca...

Re: In This Dream of Ours [Feudal Japan KN/Preview Included]

Could you possibly break up your posts into threads in the idea forum and the recruitment forum? It'll be easier for people to respond if you flesh out the details of the story in an ideas thread and have this thread solely about what kind of talent you need recruited. Just simply edit this post, se...

Re: Paying for an artist? Stop! Read this first.

I'm going to be honest here, I'm really sick of those sprite sets already... They're good quality, however, the shading used is pretty jarring and style in general is weird-looking. It's a little bothersome seeing them in so many different games, too- they're not really the best for all genres.
