Oops... just re-read what you said about recoloring and realised I misunderstood. Sorry about that. Okay, here is a thought. A trick they use in a lot of modern anime these days is model them in 3D and get the 3D rendering program to display them with cartoon-style outlining and some shading if desi...

I'm learning RenPy as I go, but I seem to recall that RenPy has the ability to recolor an image, with white shifting to the designated color and other colors interpolated. Also you can always put a semi-transparent color screen over the top of an image... it could have color gradients or just be a g...

...character designs are simplified for animation studios... so that you can get 100 animators drawing the same character... single people... typically take 2 years ...We got to split up the work somehow Excellent points. Give me a couple of days to finish this simple experiment. After that, maybe ...

Papillon, thank you so much for making "Abigail" available. I thought it was beautifully bittersweet. It also had some brilliant observations on human nature and the roles we get forced into, and was paced really nicely. The pictures were charming. I was enchanted by the entire piece. Than...

Yep. I've been using python with OpenGL to make realtime 3d stuff and wanted some easier way to handle mouse, keyboard, and sounds. That brought me to pygame. I was up at my parents' place reading more about it when my youngest niece (10 years old) came down to Mum & Dad's to chat with me. I sho...

Hehehe :D "Superior skill" -- I don't think so. I am a total newbie at this. I love the artwork of "Oh My Goddess". I'm not familiar with the others though. I'll have to look them up. I've been watching "Strawberry Panic" lately and am in complete awe of the artwork. My...

Hi DaFool. :) Thanks for the vote of confidence. Rika-chan has been in touch with me and is, I think, unsure about whether my style suits the project. This is quite understandable, as it is important that the artwork have the same feel as the story. I love anime, but my artwork tends not to be in th...

Wow! ...... I am new here, having stumbled across RenPy and ren'ai several days ago while researching pygame for some 3D stuff I'm programming. I have only run about 8 of the stories from the renai.us archives so far. Imagine how lucky I feel to be presented with the wonderful gem of Ori, Ochi, Onoe...

Well done! I love this kind of story, and even the fact that I detest Flash didn't detract from my enjoyment. I'm one of those who almost cried too. :) As everybody else has said, the sound crew (Julieanne Patmore, Matthew Buckey, Alvin Mak, and Carmen Poljak) really hit the mark. Let's hope we hear...

Ummm... I've worked in animation (at Air Programs International in Sydney, Australia, and after that at Hanna Barbera) though I haven't worked in a studio for years now. You can see some of the kind of artwork I do at my website http://miriam-english.org though I haven't got any animation up there. ...

It just occurs to me that I should have mentioned that if I leave the standard definition of the editor in editor.rpy as pointing to scite.exe then the "Edit Script" button shows up in the launcher interface, however when pressed it reports that it launched the script files in the editor, ...

Sorry about the bother, PyTom. It is not such a problem for me as I simply open the files in a text editor myself. I'd prefer to use it on Linux anyway, which hopefully I'll succeed in tomorrow.

Sorry to say, didn't solve it on my machine. I have the same problem of trying to open the editor on one of my machines running Windows98 -- haven't succeeded in running renpy on my Puppy Linux machines yet. Until then I'm stuck with using Windows98. :(
