Re: MorningStar
Well, I'm not sure we ever made things totally clear even to ourselves about that, but my opinion would be... ...that the only concrete effect of the pendants was that they teleported you back to the infirmary whenever you were in danger of being seriously harmed, so from that perspective any pendan...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.2
A "re-re-re-release"? Beggars the question, how many re-releases of MorningStar have been done? Hm. Past the original (and the various patches we made to it), the only real updates were the CD version we sold at conventions (still do, technically) which added OSX/Linux support, and a few ...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.2
Eh, sorry about the super late replies; I haven't been around LSF recently (too busy with work). how many extras is it possible to unlock. Yeah, if you've beaten it five times you've unlocked every real extra. When you get every possible ending, the game tells you that you've seen every possible end...

Re: MorningStar
Possibly, but since it's not written in RenPy I'm not sure how useful they'd be to you?

Re: iPhone / PocketPC / multiplatform games
Calling anything requiring installation of Mono "crossplatform" is a dubious idea at best. What particular problems are inherent in using Mono? Honestly curious about your experience with it, good or bad. Can't tell you, because I can't be bothered to install two complicated and rather la...

iPhone / PocketPC / multiplatform games
So, I've finally returned from the last ... however many months it was I've spent doing "real" work (i.e. work that pays my bills) and actually done some VN related stuff for a change. Anyway, what I have now is an engine that runs successfully on PC/OSX/Linux/PocketPC/iPhone (well, and in...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.2
I have a question: is there a working Mac version of the first game somewhere on the internet? In a sense, no, the original was Windows only. That said, we did port the original game over to the new engine earlier this year so it's something that sort of exists. Although it really needs re-testing ...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.2
chunderbunny pointed me here ... sorry for not seeing your post sooner, I've not been around (due to hideously busy Work Related Issues) for the past few weeks. Consider your bug report noted; at the very least we'll try and fix the text speed so it's possible to slow it down effectively (not sure w...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.2
Hey, I never said I should. Just that it would be useful. I guess you're right, it would make things too easy. On another note... I'm having trouble putting the storylines together. Is Zwei a direct sequel? I mean, is the story canon or is it some sort of alternative future? And is Natsuki a clone ...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.2
Thanks for the bug reports, I'll look into them. "The blinking is a nice touch (how come Hikaru doesn't get it too?) but all characters seem to be stuck with the same expression. What's it called again... neutral half-smile. Or neutral half-scowl in Natsuki's case. It's like they're incapable o...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.1
Update: v1.2 is out which will fix the problem with crashing on the first morning, for anyone who had it. http://www.studiomab.co.uk/AssetData.aspx?studio=Studio_MAB&game=MorningStar_Zwei&asset=MorningStarZwei__Windows&file=MorningStarZwei120.zip It also improves savegame handling and re...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.1
Thanks - the dump.txt file is what I needed. I'm 90% sure I know what the problem is, although I haven't reproduced it yet [that's what I'll try and do next...] and I should have a fix out soon-ish. If you're having problems installing .NET then something's possibly not-quite-right with your Windows...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.1
Thank you! It turns out that committing to write twice as much as in previous NaNo's in the same period of time, while still doing the programming, is a recipe for an unpolished script ... so yeah, the story isn't the best thing ever. OTOH, since we released late, we did put in a bonus path that I t...

Re: MorningStar Zwei (NaNo 2009 late release) v1.1
Not specifically ... the original MorningStar game was, um, partially "inspired by" certain elements of Mai-Otome, so since we were whipping up a sequel, it kind of made sense to call it MorningStar Zwei. So you might recognise one or two things in the game from the series, but it's not a ...

Re: Universal Survey on Visual Novel Preferences
it makes little sense for teacher-student relationships to be viewed more positively than under aged sex, considering that both would involve under aged sex in the first place Just to clarify this (not that I voted...) in most European countries, at least, the age of consent is 14-16 - so a teacher...
