Hello there~
It's also not so much about the lips as it is about the jaw.
Open and close your mouth--you will notice that your jaw moves too.
This is an important part (and thankfully easy to solve) or it looks static and wrong, while it's hard to point out.
Good work, nevertheless!

Re: What's your opinion on photo/model tracing?
Hmmm... I have a mixed opinion on this. On the one side, I prefer to paint everything myself, but in the other hand... schedules are tight and the concurrence does not sleep. I'm currently trying to build a workflow in which I integrate 3D elements to speed up the creation process. However, I only &...

though I worry it will end up looking like she's glowing. Just why would she look like that? :'D Here's a quick example for you. I also unified the colours a bit--and concerning her hair, you might want to lower the brightness and saturation a bit (make the actual hair more natural and put the brig...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
Lovely art style, hun. =) Your anatomy skills are really great! A few tips concerning colouring: 1. Cloth textures a.) They don't really fit in as you only use them on the clothes--either throw them out completely, or use them somewhere else too (e.g. a really subtle skin texture). Using a textured ...

Thank you for the update!
I asked about >more flexible image manipulation in this thread< a while back, and you said it was supposed to come out in 6.15/16--did I miss this update or was it postponed again?

That looks great, dear!
Love your style, especially the guys face. <3
I never used Mischief for an actual painting, just not my type of brushes for this--but I adore it for sketching and designing. It's nice to see that other people find it enjoyable for other things too!

Re: Psst. You. Let's talk about stylistic choices.
Describe your style in one word. Cute? Sophisticated? Unique? Amateurish. I have different styles which I love to use, but most of them just lack the commercial value, so this probably summarises it best. Which hemisphere do you feel like you take most inspiration from? Eastern, Western, a smatteri...

Thank you for your recommendation!
I was planing on reading it anyway, but I didn't think about reading it in English--now I will.
Are there any other books you'd advise me to read?

Re: Developing linguistic skills
Thank you for your answer! :> Yes, reading was also my first idea. However, the problem is less that I'm not able to feel the way that they are (roleplaying helped a lot with that), but more that my English skills are rather basic. I can easily capture the flow of her speaking (consisting of style, ...

Re: Requesting advice: I want to turn my story into a VN
You could always use Twine as a organiser only. Which means that you can use it to visualise how the plot changes with interaction, but fill the boxes only with summaries. (This is more to help yourself plotting than to show others--though it's possible.) Also, Ren'Py is easier than you think. "...

Developing linguistic skills
Hello there! I recently switched the main characters in my story. However, the new protagonist is a linguists student, and while this is not the main point of the story but rather a side information, I believe that it influences not only the way she talks, but also the way she thinks and perceives t...

Re: Is a visual novel a "game"? Grad student needs your opin
If you want to read more about this stuff, I'd advise you "The Art of Game Design - a Book of Lenses" by Jesse Schell (http://artofgamedesign.com/). In the beginning, it starts giving anchors about how to define "fun", "toy" and "game". I believe it came to th...

Re: Looking for feedback on a trailer
Agree with the voice thing. Hmm... You could also try overlaying some stuff (other art or moving textures, but maybe I just made too many AMVs in my life) so that it seems more interesting to look at, since while the art is pretty, it gets boring just staring at it slowly zooming. Alternately you co...
