Re: Automatically generate variable reference

Rats (pun intended). Oh well.

I might try attacking this from a completely different angle. Thanks for the prompt replies!

Re: Automatically generate variable reference

Ah I was imagining that might be what someone would respond with... sometime after i posted. I used a really bad example rather than saying exactly what I want to do, but I tend not liking to share exactly what I'm up to because I like being all mysterious. But mysterious and vague people don't get ...

Automatically generate variable reference

To me, the subject looks like nonsense. I don't know the jargon, or rather, have forgotten it since not working with any sort of code for well over a year. I wasn't sure how to search for what I wanted to know, or even how to ask this. Is there a way to set it up so new variables or "objects&qu...

Re: [WIP kabbalah, Jewish, psychological]: Yesoidos

I must say, this intrigues me. I am always interested in projects that incorperate cultures other than American or Japanese, just merely because it is refreshing. Also, from the conversations I perused among some of the first couple of comments, it looks like a lot of research has been done, which i...

Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]

I know I already commented here... but I want to comment again. I sat my sister down and made her play it and pretty much loomed over her shoulder (well not entirely, I busied myself with other things) and it was so much fun to see what she did differently and how she responded to things. She was re...

Re: Your most daring feats of lulziness IRL

Yup. Well maybe a little warmth, but because they were brand new, there was some sort of chemical on them that the fire caught on fast, but almost as soon as they were lit, the fire raced up his foot in a flash and was gone again. It was REALLY neat to watch, but very short lived. Ooooh, and PLEASE ...

Re: Your most daring feats of lulziness IRL

When my female friend had a boyfriend, I had to show him up on Valentines day just because I was competitive (and to show him how it's done!). He got her a nice card and some chocolates. She loves chocolates, but since she loves them, she gets lots of chocolaty things most of the time anyway. I got ...

Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]

Well I certainly did not regret paying for this game! I actually really like the detail gone into this as far as character interaction as far as indi games go! But then, I'm new to the inbdie industry, so maybe this is standard fare! I played it through twice and each time I really enjoyed the route...

Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]

....So cruel, ending the Demo right at the exam! Er... ANYWAY I guess I just might have to shell out money for this. I'll withhold saying much until I've played the full version, but I will say that it has made a strong enough impression on me that I am fully willing to part with my money, and that ...

...You can use 'not'?

I did Look through indeces and the tutorials, but I suppose I didn't look deep enough.

DSE - Cause event to NOT trigger SOLVED

Is there an easy way to stop an event from happening based on a variable? Let's say I had this variable, say, girlmad = True ANd then I wanted in the code where it defines whether an event runs or not to have an exception. Say it was something like, uh... $ event("girl_heart1", "act =...

Re: The [Blank] Path; a Slenderman Visual Novel

Heh, kudos for even attempting horror. I enjoy the genre, but have never tried writing/drawing for it. I've just done mildly disturbing and black humour, but never outright horror or thriller.... and since I haven't made any VN's myself yet (that are a cohesive game and not weird things for the sake...

Re: The [Blank] Path; a Slenderman Visual Novel

I am all for creepy genre. Bring it. If you manage to make me unable to sleep, it will be a job well done. In other words, I am looking forward to the completion of this project... although looking in the Ren'Py help sections may have spoiled something for me... but if that hadn't been spoiled for m...
