Re: Ren'Py 7.4.x Prereleases

7.4.8.1893) I'd like to announce Ren'Py 7.4.8, the eighth patch release of Ren'Py 7.4. This release is focused on fixes, and especially fixes a problem introduced in Ren'Py 7.4.7 that could, in some circumstances, cause data to become corrupt during rollback. Everyone on 7.4.7 should upgrade. In add...

Re: Ren'Py 7.4.7 Released

I'll make sure this is fixed.

There's also a fairly major issue in 7.4.7 that can corrupt rollback of lists and objects, so I'll be aiming to have a 7.4.8 with fixes out this weekend.

Ren'Py 7.4.7 Released

I'm happy to announce Ren'Py 7.4.7, the seventh patch release of Ren'Py 7.4. This release includes many fixes, and some major improvements. Perhaps the biggest set of changes was to the Web port of Ren'Py, which has been rewritten to use the web browser's native audio processing. This prevents expen...

Fixed an issue with Model().texture(). Documented renpy.IgnoreEvent(), tweaked some custom theme things, and in ...

Re: Inactivity Timer in a RenPy Game

Here's my go at it, based on Alex's version. screen activity_timer(): default warning = False timer 10.0 action SetScreenVariable("warning", True) timer 15.0 action MainMenu(confirm=False) if warning: text "Timeout in 5 seconds!" label reset_timer: hide screen activity_timer show screen activity_tim...

Re: Renpy Controlflow - Ren'py-return after label-call by Python-function

That's not 100% right. renpy.call leaves the current Ren'Py statement, which might consist of many Python statements. It can return to either the start or the end of the current Ren'Py statement, but it can't return into the middle of a Python loop - there simply isn't a way to stick Ren'Py in the m...

Re: Is it possible to have too many images?

The android limit is pretty hard, sort of downloading image files yourself. Everything else should be capable of dealing with unlimited images. Note that there is a limit on how many images can be loaded into memory at once without running into problems - each pixel of the uncompressed image takes a...

Re: layeredimage with variable = "not defined"?

Oh, so there's your problem. im.MatrixColor will be evaluated at init time, when the LayeredImage is defined. Since avatar_directory won't work there, you get a crash. I'd suggest switching over to using a Transform with matrixcolor, and then using a dynamic image. Transform("/images/avatar/[avatar_...

Re: Should there be a semi-agreed upon hotkey config/standard for WASD key-based renpy games?

I don't believe WASD gameplay makes sense for visual novels and similar games, where there's no need to devote a hand to aiming with the mouse.

Re: (Doubt) Possibility of HCA or ADX audio support (CRI Middleware)

Not directly. You could probably slap RIFF headers on the front, and make it into a signed 16-bit wav file, and pass that to AudioData.
