Re: [bug] ToggleScreenVariable in nested screens

Checkout ToggleLocalVariable and SetLocalVariable if you want to access variables in nested screens. (These are slower than their ScreenVariable equivalents.)

Re: Spanish community

The forum rule is that everyone is to communicate in English, just because it's hard to operate on a forum when there are multiple language in the use. As a moderator, it's very difficult to deal with non-spam threads that are in a language that I can't understand. It's also frustrating to try to re...

You can easily do that yourself.

Code: Select all

define ssv = SetScreenVariable
etc.

Re: Moving Audio Slider Crashes the Game

I don't know, offhand. The problem isn't shown here - the most likely thing I can come up with is you did something like

_preferences.set_volume = .5

or something like that.

Re: Is it possible to change a game's .exe image based on variables within the game?

What you could do - might work, might not, might trigger your anti-virus - would be to build the game with the second icon. Grab the .exe from the zip file, store it in the game directory. Then when the game runs, it could copy the exe file from one place to another. The exe file isn't game specific...

Re: Is my posts deleted?

These games were deleted for not being visual novels or story-based games, which is the purpose of the Lemma Soft Forums. These forums have a purpose, and at the end of the day, we moderate them to keep them on track, which means not letting wildly off-topic games in. Having your thread deleted for ...

Re: pygame.scrap Not implemented?

That should work - you can see the implementation of the function at https://github.com/renpy/pygame_sdl2/bl ... /scrap.pyx . Where are you getting the value of SCRAP_TEXT from? It would fail if that's set incorrectly.

The right way is to use pygame_sdl2.SCRAP_TEXT .

Re: Android Build: CalledProcessError

I got pinged about this thread. This is the error you'd get if you don't have a 64-bit version of JDK 8 installed. (It is quite possible that you have a newer version of Java.)

Re: Performance issue with CDD particles

SpriteManager is used for something where you have tons of basically identical particles. ATL is for everything else.

Re: Performance issue with CDD particles

Consider using SpriteManager, which speeds thigns up when you have tons and tons of particles. I'd also avoid ATL here, since SpriteManager should be able to do all of the same things.

Re: Coding WITHOUT jump function?

There isn't a jump/goto statement in python, but there is one in Ren'Py's script language. The reason for this is Ren'Py's script language is fundamentally an unstructured programming language. Structured programming languages, like C++ and Python, are very good at managing things like recursion and...

And if someone with connections could summon the OG, @PyTom himself (I don't understand why we can't tag people here) to this thread so he could share his opinion that would be great.

Yes.

Re: pygame_sdl2 and pygame 2

Pygame_sdl2 came about when I was porting Ren'Py to SDL2. Since Ren'Py was based on the pygame API, and I didn't want to rewrite Ren'Py more than I had to, I (and Patrick Dawson) rewrote pygame_sdl2 instead. I gave the project that name since I hoped that the pygame project would adopt it going forw...
