Re: Which module is responsible for downloading

Downloading code like that is not allowed by the Google Play store rules.

Re: Display Image 500px to the right or left

Actually, use xpos rather than xalign. The xalign property only makes sense with fractional offsets, rather than whole numbers of pixels.

Re: "Glowing" text in Ren'Py? [solved]

There's an outline color tag, that could be used maybe to hide it (or show it, if it's set to transparent by default). The problem is that the outlines change the size of a block of text in its entirety.

Re: Looping Back to the same menu with variable text

I love and hate this story. So, the way I'd do this is to move the label outside the menu, and simply increment a number each time the player makes it through the loop. First off, initialize a counter: default thought = 0 Then increment it by one each time you go through label think. label think: $ ...

Re: "Glowing" text in Ren'Py? [solved]

Due to the way outlines work, they're kind of an all-or-nothing thing. Either every line has them, or none do.

Re: How do I disable key focusing on quick menu?

For the record; don't do this. The keyboard is necessary for accessibility for players that can't reliably use a mouse.

Re: Need help on Build Distribution Failure in 'distribute.rpy'

That seems very likely to be caused by your icon file not being in the correct format. It needs to be a .ico file, not a .png renamed to it.

Re: The return of macOS support in -all packages?

it depends on a private API, which seems like a terrible thing to depend on. Apple wants us to do things one way, and fighting them is asking for an OS update to break all Ren'Py games... again.

Re: Problem with call stack

I could point out the problem here - you're not giving set_return_stack the right type. But seriously, this is very powerful magic, and I can't see anything here that justifies the use of the function. If you want to let us know what you're really trying to accomplish, we can help you with that - ma...

Compared to that release, Ren'Py 7 adds many features uses have long since come to consider core parts of the engine, such as ATL, Screen Language, OpenGL acceleration, support for ...

So, another month, and Selecting Images to Show is out, while Avoiding Framerate Glitches Caused By Image Prediction is now free for everyone. The latter one is, I think, one of the best and most important articles I wrote so far.

Re: Ren'Py 7.0.0 Prereleased

I've bumped things up to 7.0.0.190. Changes are:

* The docs have been given an editing pass.

* The special file page names (used for auto- and quick-saves) are passed through the translation code, allowing them to be translated into alternate languages.

* There's a fix for a typo in the tutorial.
