Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Released

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Released

AERenior > 6.16 is not supported. In general, Ren'Py doesn't support loading .rpyc files from new versions into an old version, which is the problem here. backansi > Scite isn't supported anymore. Chances are, you uploaded the x86_64 apk, rather than the arm one. You should either upload the arm ver...

Re: [Tutorial] How to save space in your Ren'Py game

On iOS, Opus encapsulated in Core Audio Format might be able to be used. Ren'Py doesn't use the system library for audio playback, just fullscreen video. I'm not going to accept any patches that add patented technology to Ren'Py, which probably rules out some of the formats you listed, BPG among th...

Re: Hard request - restructure rollback/seen text to accommodate new paradigm?

No, you're not allowed to do that. But why would you? You should probably just explain what you really want to be doing in terms of variables and so on, and then we can figure out how to help you get there. For example, you can have.: define character.e = Character("Eileen") default e = MyObject() T...

Ren'Py 7.1.0 Released

I'm happy to announce Ren'Py 7.1.0. This release fixes issues with Ren'Py 7.0.0, and also includes a few new features: Android support has been rewritten to use the modern gradle-based build system. This allows Android apps created using Ren'Py to be posted in the Google Play store again. This also ...

Re: Hard request - restructure rollback/seen text to accommodate new paradigm?

I'm not really that interested in supporting a total rewrite of the dialogue system, since I don't understand it or the motivation behind it.

Re: The new renai.us/games.renpy.org support thread.

Sorry, I've been really dropping the ball on this site. I need to figure out a way of safely discontinuing the list, but for now I'll see what I can do about approving what's in the queue.

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

7.1.0.880 is up. This fixes the problem with parsing an 'r' or a 'u' by itself at the end of a line in certain contexts. (I tend not to use single letter variables, tsk, tsk.) It also adds the transpose property to vpgrid, which is was already documented to have. And it puts the Ren'Py version into ...

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

Yeah, this is a mistake in parsing 'r' at the end of the line. It's fixed in the nightly, and I'll be uploading a new prerelease shortly.

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

Okay, I checked out that SSL error a bit more. I'm guessing that you're behind some sort of firewall that is intercepting HTTPS requests. Your copy of Java doesn't have this key, and hence Java is unable to contact the website to download additional files that are needed to finish the build. https:/...

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

Zeekee, it looks like you might be on some sort of old version of Ren'Py. I'd suggest starting over with 7.1, making sure you have Java 8 installed, and making sure JAVA_HOME is not set. Everyone, I've just uploaded 7.1.0.877. This tries to fix the -Xmx... problem by getting rid of it entirely, lett...

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

I've updated the prerelease to 7.1.0.874. There are a bunch of improvement in there. The gradlew executable thing has been fixed. We're also now copying the prototype over to the project on start, and then again depending on the appropriate configure option. If you're still having random android pro...
