Re: DSanchez's - City of Lost Hope
On the other hand, some players will have sound turned off, and some players cannot hear to begin with. It can be just as problematic to give key information ONLY in visual/audio form and leave players lost if they couldn't pick up those cues. It's something to be aware of, because you don't want t...

Re: Artist Ready to Work!
Really liked your work (especially Mantasquid)
If you'd be willing to draw more.....for want of a better word.....monsters then I have a couple of projects I'd love to work with you on.

Re: DSanchez's - City of Lost Hope
Okay, review time. First off, loved all of the aesthetics you used in your game. The backgrounds and CG's were beautifully drawn along with the characters who were unique and easy on the eyes. However, the use of sound effects and music were what made me like this game, they created a great sense of...

There you go, sorry for the delay. I cropped them into single images as they were easier for me to do that way. Hope that's okay http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb461/Wolfzau/Naoya02.png http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb461/Wolfzau/Naoya01.png http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb461/Wolfz...

Re: Visual Novels vs Life Sims vs Roleplay games
I agree. I downgraded my current project from an RPG into a "VN x Strategy" game. It's just simpler from a balancing perspective to just hardwire the stats and just hand-tweak each battle. I never thought of that. That's actually a really good idea, would probably save me both time and mo...

Re: Visual Novels vs Life Sims vs Roleplay games
In summary: don't attempt doing a RPG in Ren'Py if you care about your mental sanity  Urgh, just what I needed to start my day. Been ignoring the coding for now as I've been more focussed on writing and finishing all of the artwork but from what I read it seems like even after I've finished th...

Re: TCAST - Looking for Graphics Editor
Kinda busy with my own artwork at the moment but I don't mind turning the sprite backgrounds transparent as long as the lines are sharp and it won't be too big a headache.
Sorry I can't do more but I figure a little help is better than none at all.
If you're interested pm me

Re: LSF Spirit (or "Dude, where's my forum?")
Crazy thought, right? On a big internet community! Be polite! This is how LSF started, and this is how I would like it to continue. We have visual novel beginners, players, creators, professionals, and everything in between! Let's encourage the beginners and give helpful feedback to creators. A pro...

Re: Princess Battles (card based raising sim)
Checked out your devlog and am quite looking forward to seeing how this plays.
The fact that the artwork rocks (did you make them all yourself?) doesn't hurt either.
Keep up the great work

Re: Parents in VNs
I don't see why people just don't go with "My parents work nights." It's a hell of a lot more realistic, my father does this and when I was growing up the only time I usually saw him was an hour before I went to bed. As other people have said before me, if it's not integral to the story ei...

Japan Stock Images
So, while trawling the web looking for free material to use as placeholder graphics for a demo I'm working on I stumbled across this website. http://konoka.sakura.ne.jp/index2.html For anybody making a VN that is set in Japan, this site will definitely be of some use to you, whether you use the imag...

Re: A question about character art/sprites
According to this article , japanese companies will pay from $37 to $123 (according to xe.com currency converter) just for the lineart of one character in one pose and one outfit (including several expressions), and about as much for the coloring of said lineart. Just something to consider~ You hav...
