Aligning the namebox
I encountered this problem while messing around with the namebox and textbox graphics... It seems like the namebox is displayed behind the textbox, but what I want is for the namebox to overlap the textbox. This was my original idea: http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac304/qiisnii/random/actual.png...

Hiding the dialogue box with spacebar [SOLVED]
I'm new to Ren'py and Python and have a couple of questions -- I've looked around for answers but couldn't find any so far. Most visual novels I've played will hide the dialogue box and other menus on the screen and show only the background/sprites when the spacebar is pressed. The default Ren'py ac...

Re: Death_HUG drawings, critque please
Your art is looking super-cute, especially your chibi characters! ^^ Most of the stuff to improve on was already mentioned by other people, so I was wondering if you use wire skeletons (I'm not quite sure what they're called -- they're those stick figure-like things) in your sketching process. If no...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
I hope no one minds if I jump in here and give out some critiques. ^^;; (I don't post too often in these forums but I'm trying to become more active lately.) Fawn, if you're going for an anime style, keep in mind that some body proportions are exaggerated and might not match those we see in real lif...

Re: Question About Videos
I've been considering making a video for my game too, but haven't started on one yet.
A couple of my friends who make anime AMVs use a program called Sony Vegas. I've heard good things about this program, and the video editing features are very professional; however, the pricing is a bit high.

Re: What drawing softwares do you use?
I mainly use SAI because it's practically made for anime-style drawings. The watercolor tool makes coloring and blending so much easier than any of the Photoshop tools. Like most people, I only transfer over to Photoshop for more advanced editing like Curves, to use the filters, or when I need to in...

Re: Using Ren'py to make art tutorials
Woah, I've been thinking of making a game with the exact same idea. Haha, I won't blame you for "copying" my idea or anything, since there's bound to be people who have similar ideas. But anyway, I wanted to make a game that teaches how to draw general anime-style characters rather than to...

Re: Which is more important in a Visual Novel to you?
My opinion is probably biased because I'm an artist, but I'll always appreciate a visual novel more if it has great artwork. Like some people have said, if the artwork isn't good enough, it automatically turns me off and I won't even consider playing it. Even if it has the best story in the world, I...
