Re: Drawing Computer programs

Pixelmator is pretty good, and it does a lot -- though certainly not all -- of the stuff that Photoshop can do. Currently it's about $30, though it goes on sale from time to time (I remember seeing it go down to $15 at one point). There's also Sketchbook Express (the free version of the $60 SketchB...

Re: How do you go about paying your team?

I have a very simple way of doing this: I do all my own writing, coding, art, and music. ...mind you, the first two are the only ones I can claim to be good at. But it does keep expenses down! (Slightly more serious answer: I've had many, many people tell me finding artists/musicians/etc. ...

Re: EKVN - A framework for iOS visual novels

Porting? You could probably do it. The "scripting language" (if it can be called that) is pretty different, but some of the concepts are the same, due to Ren'Py being the original inspiration for EKVN. Some of the basic commands/concepts in Ren'Py have equivalent ones in EKVN. For example:...

Re: EKVN - A framework for iOS visual novels

No, I don't think the iOS software development kit supports PowerPC processors anymore (assuming it ever did). I think the current version of Apple's development software requires a Mac with a 64-bit Intel chip.

Re: Opinions on warning for cruel twist ending?

I wouldn't explicitly warn people, but I would create an overall mood for the game that implies that there's going to be a major downer ending. The main plot would be serious, and the characters would be noticeably unhappy people, until it finally culminates in a tragedy that any perceptive player w...

Re: EKVN - A framework for iOS visual novels

I was wondering, if there is a way to use it without a Mac? Well... in theory , you could probably get OS X (and Xcode) to run on either a Hackintosh or a PC running OS X on an emulator, and then use EKVN that way, but I've never actually tried either of those methods. :? That said, to be be able t...

EKVN - A framework for iOS visual novels

EKVN is a project I've been working on and off for a while now. It was originally intended as an open-source framework (based on cocos2d-iphone ) for developing visual novels on iOS, since at the time I couldn't find any iOS-compatible visual novel-making kits. It's nowhere near as advanced or flex...

Re: Always Remember Me (VN/Life sim, commercial)

I don't really have anything useful to add, but I just finished the demo and I really enjoyed the game. The art is really good, and I thought the use of chibis in the user interface was clever (and cute). =D Aaron's dad looks kinda bishounen-ish though. I mean, if it weren't for the gray hair and so...

Re: What subject you hate the most?

English. Which might seem odd since it's one of my better subjects, but... honestly, having to write essay after essay annoys me more than anything I have to deal with in other classes. ._.

Re: Double Romance

I thought the game was hilarious though considering how wacky and random the humor is, I'm not sure what that says about me. >_> (also, Shwiin's reply about his ex made me lol for reals)

*coughs* Anyways! Also, I love the art style. :D It's seriously awesome.

Re: Your ideal licensed game, sequel, or spinoff

Three words: Harry. Potter. MMORPG . You create your own character, go through Hogwarts, and live life as a wizard or witch in an online magical world. All the characters, spells, creatures, etc. from the books are available, and you can do pretty much anything that a character from the books could.

Re: Dragon Age

Leliana is much better as a lesbian. I thought she was boring as a male, but as a female she kinda grew on me. Or maybe it's just that 'ooooooh forbidden romance squee' factor for me, I dunno XD. Also, I would recommend playing the Leliana's Song DLC. I wish she was more like that in the regular ga...

Re: The First and the Best. Visual Novels.

I think the first real VN I ever played was Katawa Shoujo Act 1. And KS is still in development. XD

...probably the best VN I've played though is Edelweiss. Despite its flaws, it's probably the only VN that I've ever gotten emotional over. @_@

I think the very first anime I ever saw was either Voltes 5 or The Flying House. What really got me into anime though was Love Hina. ^_^

Re: What are your currents favourites?

The only series I've really been keeping up with are: Amagami (there's like 5 separate manga series just for this O_o) Highschool of the Dead Naruto Negima Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi Umi no Misaki ...I also used to keep up with Air Gear, Psyren, and Rosario+Vampire, but not so much these...
