Re: Colors or Poses?
Hey, plenty of artists work with a colorist. Post help wanted in recruitment and I'm sure you'd get some takers. I might even think about it if I saw a sample of the art.

Re: Any editor options for the Mac?
I use Smultron! It comes with Python syntax definition from which it's very easy to make a Ren'py one. I did have it crash once or twice, though, but I'm willing to deal with it because it's got all the features I want.

Re: Felix, Gaijin [First Non-English Ren'Py release]
I don't speak one bit of German... Florian, since you're clearly comfortable with English (is it your second language or first? I did not realize you spoke German earlier), I'd highly encourage you--no, I'd desperately beg you--to release a translation in English. I believe your game will be able to...

Re: Hold on Tight (pics added!)
I prefer Miss Dandies when they dress androgynously but flatter their natural figures rather than attempt to obscure them. That said, I recognize that everyone has a different taste. I edited my first post to mention that there will be a few outfits that the player must work to see. Haruka is bindin...

Re: Money??? please give advice
Hey, this is awesome as a debug tool. I tried a similar thing debugging with a ui bar, but I feel a digit value is much more useful for any game with hidden stats. Let me suggest the following changes/comments to the first init block to make it easier for new people to get... init: $ statlabel = 'ST...

Re: Hold on Tight (pics added!)
Hello all! Here's the status on my project! The game has been entitled "Hold on Tight." You play the recently awakened Sailor Neptune as you struggle to get to know your predestined comrade and longtime crush, Haruka Tenoh. It takes about twenty to thirty minutes to play and has five endin...

For #2, don't you want to just delete "persistent" from your save folder? (Sorry, I didn't really understand the specifics of your question...)

Re: Questions about a point system.
Remember that you don't need to start a new label after a menu or an if statement, as long as you indent correctly. If your character scene is long enough that you'd like to make it into its own section, you can use a call statement. Let me show you what I mean: label start: "Blah, blah, blah.&...

filtered background photos
My game has to be finished within the next four days or it won't count as an anniversary present! If only I had the time, I would lovingly hand-craft every single bg in the game. But since this is not the case, they might as well all be filtered photos (for the sake of uniformity). Now, advice, plea...

Re: White Nights
I played through and thought the story was beautiful and perfectly suited to the VN format as well. I didn't want the story to end where it did, but it was probably better of Dostoyevsky to leave it there. Also, I thought the backgrounds really captured the mood, except that I did have one little pr...

Re: Need help with a title (chosen: The Rook's Mark)
What do you mean, ugly sprites?? Those were very nice to look at. I know we are all our own worst critics... but I'd hate to see you or anyone else pour work into a project where there's already a very nice solution in place

best way to do expressions using miniature avatars
I've decided that in my game, the main character will have a small avatar on the left of the text box. That's easy enough to copy from the demo, but what about showing different facial expressions? Should I create a different character for each expression? What's the elegant way to code this? I'm th...

Re: Charlie Brown as Anime
It was interesting to see this artist's conception of the Peanuts characters.
But, nobody's going to sell the license to remake the Peanuts cartoon in a new style anytime soon.
