Re: Changing expressions of side image avatars.

Yes, it seems a lot simpler, especially for someone like me who only knows basic code. :P

Thanks again!

Re: Changing expressions of side image avatars.

HAHAHA! I have fixed it >:D

Yeah I just had to change 'window_right_padding=160,' to 'window_left_padding=160,'.

Pretty obvious really, I feel kinda dumb but YAY IT WORKS! :)

Thank you so so much for your help, Snowflower!

Re: Changing expressions of side image avatars.

Btw I just spotted one mistake, line 3 should be 'Paxton', not 'Alle'.
Should have checked it better after copying >_<

Re: Changing expressions of side image avatars.

I now have defined each of the expressions as a different character, and it's working. The only problem is that the side image is covering the text. I want it to be on the left, but not covering the writing of course :) init: $ p = Character( 'Alle', color="#ffe38b",window_right_padding=160, show_si...

Re: Changing expressions of side image avatars.

Yeah that seems to be tripping itself up somewhere.
I will try the other option, defining each expression as a different character.

Re: Changing expressions of side image avatars.

I tried that, it runs, but it made the side image come up covering the text.

Also, after the text it says at the top of the screen;

Undefined Image
paxton shock

I have no idea why. :(

I will try going again from scratch...

Re: Changing expressions of side image avatars.

@Snowflower;

With that defined, how would I then reference the different side images as part of the dialogue?

e.g. I want the line;

p "What's going on?"

To show the shocked expression side image.

Re: Changing expressions of side image avatars.

@backansi; I've tried copying and editing code from the page you provided (thank you by the way) but I can't seem to get it to work. Here is what I have now. init: $ p = Character( 'Paxton', color="#ffe38b", window_right_padding=160, show_side_image=ConditionSwitch( "p_mood = 'angry'", "p_angry.png...

Changing expressions of side image avatars.

Hey, I looked this up beforehand but couldn't make sense of the existing topics. My knowledge of Ren'Py is very basic. Ok, so basically I have my scene, which involves dialogue between two characters. One character appears using the 'show' function, and speaks without a side image. That's ok up to n...
