Re: ALICE.NET 1.0 alpha
I cannot access "recolor", nor can I create groups... In fact, the only features available to me are seeing a few things at a time (by clicking on the thumbnails), "New Project", "Open", "Render", and "About". Now, I can understand that this is mere...

Re: ALICE.NET 1.0 alpha
I believe you need to download the Alice doll from the same site as well, and open the Doll file from within it before you can use most of the app? The download on the site only has the executable and .config file in, the doll is a separate download. Oh... right. Then it should be about 96kb. I tho...

Re: ALICE.NET 1.0 alpha
I'm really sorry about the stupendous lack of updates lately, but there has been a lot going on that kind of got dumped in my lap, and I'm still trying to get something resembling a schedule back together. orz A couple things to announce; first, ALICE.NET has a new home on the web, http://www.getali...

Re: What are the meaning of your names!? (CHR iN UR GAMES, TOO)
It's a bastardization of two Greek words: "kryptos" (something hidden, hence "cryptic") and "triptych" (a three-fold panel). I picked it because I like Greek-- and linguistics and languages in general-- and because... well, it just sounds cool. I haven't created any gam...

Re: ALICE.NET 1.0 alpha
Btw, I thought Ren's doll was called "Betty"? (Unless she was renamed...?) So did I, that's how I'd always seen her called, but according to Ren: Now, this might sound strange:I just noticed you call her Betty too in your code...if it wasn't too much disturb, could you go back to Alice if...

Re: ALICE.NET 1.0 alpha
Thanks! By the next release I plan to add the "Recolor" and "Save" features. ;) I've been thinking about a similar concept for scenery.... have base unadorned rooms, and have objects and decorations in sets in layers so we can "decorate" each room for a unique look. Way...

ALICE.NET 1.0 alpha
At last, I've got a "playable demo" of ALICE.NET ready for testing. It's still lacking a great deal, but you can play with the layers and groups, and render images. Anyone who wants to put it through some paces and tell me about their experience can head over to the other end of the intern...

Re: ALICE 1.1 Released
I would suggest adding at least one thing to this - conditional switching for layers. [...] Or worse still, I might have to the two poses defined as totally different AliceDoll documents so that if I want to have a character who has multiple poses than I have to switch between several different dol...

Re: ALICE 1.1 Released
I hadn't really thought about that. Somehow ALICE's method actually made more sense to me, but I'll see what I can do. Perhaps some sort of compromise... How does ALICE do it currently? I don't think I've ever looked at the metadata... Actually, I meant the way layers were selected in the GUI, thou...

Re: ALICE 1.1 Released
I'm glad to see you're reviving the project^_^ Until now it looks good, I hope you'll somehow mimic the way layers and folders work in Photoshop since it's really practical(especially for the way I organized the hair...). I hadn't really thought about that. Somehow ALICE's method actually made more...

ALICE Reborn?
It's been a long time since I checked in here... At any rate, I recently came across my RenPy folder again, and (after updating of course :P) have since been dreaming up a "better," or at least "re-imagined," ALICE, tentatively called ALICE.NET. While PyTom says he's not much of ...

Re: Ren'Py 6.3.3 Released
It was certainly inspired by it, but IIRC nscripter only lets you use bmps, which are bigger than pngs. Also, we divide the image up into two files to prevent jpeg compression artifacts from spanning the two files. Hm, I thought there was a way to use a separate mask image, though I haven't read an...

Re: Ren'Py 6.3.3 Released
JCC seems a lot like the mask format used by NScripter. Any relation?

Re: Strange font issues
It's not nearly a game... yet, just a starting framework. But sure.PyTom wrote:No idea. Can you email the game to pytom@bishoujo.us? I'll take it apart and see if it's Ren'Py's fault. But it really shouldn't be, unless you're doing something like using {size=} or something like that.

Well, a lot of other modern languages use Math.Pow() or some variant, so you have a good excuse.monele wrote:I *always* mix it up XD...Actually, in python, power is **
