seeking writer for 18+ sword and sorcery game

Kuroi Games is looking for a narrative designer/writer for an 18+ sword and sorcery style action rpg/ visual novel hybrid.   While almost all of the programming side of things is finished, we are still in the early stages of narrative development which will allow a large amount of freedom in terms o...

Who's playing Diablo3 instead of working on their game?

Lately Diablo 3 is my favorite thing to play instead of working on my VN like I really should be.
Does anyone else in the community play D3? If so, I'd love to play with some of you guys~ I'm Kuroi#1708 if anyone would like to add me or you can just post your name here and I'll add you~

Re: video transparency

I wonder if it would work to use the AlphaMask function with movie files as it's input using the easy_displayable... I bet this will explode when I try it... init: image movie = Movie(size=(352, 240)) image movie_mask = Movie(size=(352, 240)) image transparent_movie = im.AlphaMask(easy_displayable (...

video transparency

Within the Renpy engine, is it possible to create a video that includes transparency? For example, if I didn't know ahead of time what background would need to show up against an animation of a character, could I use a video for the animation and still have the area around the character be transpare...

Dealing with Writers (What works and what doesn't)

I've been making games for some time now. Actually, I've been making games for a lot longer than you'd imagine looking at the number of completed games I've put out. Lately, I and the rest of the Kuroi games crew have been looking very critically at the difficulties we face in putting out games and ...

Re: Ren'Py 6.12.0 Pre-Released

Thanks so much, PyTom! I made a test project with just the video and put it up at: http://www.kuroigames.com/temp/test%20project-win32.zip I hope you can at least tell me if the problem is something I'm doing or if it's something within the Renpy code. I'm kinda new to this whole video creation thin...

Re: Ren'Py 6.12.0 Pre-Released

Thanks for the upload! I'm always amazed at how fast you deal with updating for bug fixes!

Unfortunately, I have one more bug to report. =( I just tested the 6.12.0c and it still seems to have the same stuttering while playing video as before.

Re: Ren'Py 6.12.0 Pre-Released

I did a few tests and as far as I can tell, the movies played okay in version 6.10.2 but didn't work in 6.11 Maybe no one used any movies of this type with 6.11?

Re: Ren'Py 6.12.0 Pre-Released

Has anyone else noticed the movies in their game being jumpy in 6.12.0? The video in mine are now very jumpy when they play. I encoded them using virtual dub using the Xvid codec.

condition switch that dissolves

Hello out there in Renpy land~ I'm trying to create a ConditionSwitch dynamic displayable which dissolves one image to another rather than simply replacing the old image instantly. Does anyone have any ideas that might point me in the right direction as far as how I'd accomplish this? Thanks in adva...

Feature request - Solid colors in Alpha Masks

I'm amazed! I think this is just about the first time I've ever found something that I wanted Renpy to do which it can't. I was trying to make some clouds on top of a sky background and really wanted to use a solid color as the image part with a simple trans map. This seemed like it would be a much ...

Re: Should you be allowed to Rollback after decisions?

I'm of the opinion that if rollback would eliminate the challenge from decision making in a game, then maybe the decision making in a game is not complex enough. What about putting in several decisions which control the choice of which path you go on and then you take an average from those decisions...

Re: Ren'Py Gripes

I have a gripe! Renpy is just too damn awesome. It makes my life too much easier. Not having to code a game engine from scratch just saves me more time than I know what to do with.
