Re: organizing labels
That's what I do. Since my game is divided into chapters, I have script.rpy where all my definitions and sprites, etc. are, and ch01.rpy, ch02.rpy, etc.

Re: What Size Canvas for Drawing Sprites?
Huh. It seems to have slightly improved, but still has some jagged features. Not sure what you should do next. Coloring it may help disguise the distortions, but I'm clueless as to what could be causing the problem in the first place. Sorry about that.

Re: What Size Canvas for Drawing Sprites?
Switch it off Bicubic and set it to automatic. See if that helps.

Re: Pausing Mid Sentence?
Try putting {w} in the spot where you want the pause. Include the brackets.

Re: What Size Canvas for Drawing Sprites?
My sprites are drawn at 3500x1422 with 72 dpi, and are resized to 890px tall in Photoshop using automatic sampling. My sprites don't seem to have any distortions that I notice. How exactly are you resizing them, and can we see one of the wonky sprites post-resizing?

Re: Is changing frequently the mood of a scene a bad practice?
Not sure if that particular example qualifies as the mood changing or mood whiplash. You're describing fear, despair, then despair and fear. The two emotions are commonly linked in fiction, so no, I don't think in this case it would cause that. If the trapped characters suddenly started singing Baby...

Re: Is changing frequently the mood of a scene a bad practice?
I'd need to see more examples to potentially think otherwise, but that sounds like, best-case scenario, it'd be perceived as comical mood whiplash. If it's handled oddly or poorly, it'll probably just be confusing.

Re: Resuming your project after two years...
I just picked up my old project that's been dormant for four years. But jumping back into it, I realized I couldn't just continue from where I left off. There was too much I wanted to change, too much I don't remember from my last work on it. So I restarted. Still working on it, of course, but it is...

Are the characters supposed to look like children? Because they look like they're in 5th grade.

Re: Help me name my game
Playing off mechanics could be a good way to go. Saving Throw Attack of Opportunity No Skill Points (if it's a 3.5 game, 5e got rid of those...) Proficiency Bonus (if it's 5e, and not 3.5) Maybe item or spell names like Bag of Holding Portable Hole (that sounds suggestive, doesn't it...?) The Magic ...

Re: Need GameDesign Ideas/Help! for HiddenObject Gameplay
Limiting the number of "wrong" clicks is one way. Another way is lots and lots of dialogue. In some P&C games, when you click on something, the PC will say something. "It's a window, but it's barred shut. There's no way out." or "If meat is murder, that rug is at least a...

Re: White Monday [Free] [Drama] [Rated R] [Object Heads]
I only played it through once, so I didn't know there were multiple endings. Given Heiko's general reactions to my statements, I actually thought this was a KN. I plan to go back through it again later, but the ending I got: Heiko ends up in the hospital talking to the mailman. If it was supposed to...

Re: White Monday [Free] [Drama] [Rated R] [Object Heads]
It's cool. I like it, even if I don't fully understand it. But that may be me, not you. While I don't relate to Heiko in many ways, you did a great job of making him relateable and sympathetic, despite everything that happens. A couple of technical suggestions: The cricket sound effects are a little...

Re: Character Model Stand Ins
Huh, that's pretty nifty. I forgot the depth of mods that exist for games like that. Then hey, I don't see why you shouldn't use them, as long as they don't go in the final release. You don't want EA breathing down your neck.
