Re: Errant Heart
Holy hell, I remember when I first started coming here that this was being developed (Roughly aroun '11?). Good to see that it's finally finished! Yeah, that's what happens when one only has spare time to devote to a project. Well, it also didn't help that we decided that we wanted to go crazy with...

Re: Hand-drawn Sketches Vs. Sketching Straight into the Comp
Comic/Manga Studio is GREAT for line art. I used to dread doing line art and now I enjoy it because of the program. :P Oh yeah, I fell in love with Comic Studio when I first saw it demonstrated at Comic Con. The speedline and perspective rulers were really impressive. Even though I don't really do ...

Re: Hand-drawn Sketches Vs. Sketching Straight into the Comp
This is an intriguing technique. So basically artists who do this are getting all the anatomy and poses knocked out on the computer, then going the extra mile to get the look of a hand-inked drawing? That's pretty amazing. The trick seems to be getting it to work. You have to be able to print in a ...

Re: Hand-drawn Sketches Vs. Sketching Straight into the Comp
I know one problem is that I like to keep my digital art extremely clean and vector-style, but I'm also wondering if I'd just do better if I started scanning in stuff, instead of trying to work point blank from a computer screen. If you're doing vector art, that could be a big part of your problem ...

Re: Errant Heart - Kickstarter update
Woah! Looks like you're over halfway there! Yeah, it's slowly creeping forward. We got a nice boost from the Shovel Knight creators, thanks to our composer, Jake Kaufman. Jake wants to use some real musicians and instruments in the score, and part of the reason for the Kickstarter (not to mention o...

Re: Errant Heart - Kickstarter update
I'm not someone who does a lot of blogging (I pretty much didn't do any while working on VVH), but I've finally gotten around to writing a little more for Errant Heart. The latest post might interest anyone who's ever wondered just what I do for EH when I'm not working on artwork (mostly the end res...

Re: Errant Heart - No more beta, but 11/5/12 update
Any chance you can make a screencast of the text appearing? It's hard to judge based on just this screenshot. I'll have to leave that to @berration. Right now, he's the keeper of the current build, and the only one who can post an animated sample. Although, I can provide a basic description of how ...

Re: The problem of switching between NVL mode and ADV mode
Uhm, about the text box... I want to keep the text box on the screen during the transition (character's transition, BG's transition). You know, normally the text box will disappear for a second when "with dissolve/fade" or some kind of other transition commands run. I want to keep the tex...

Re: ATL movement glitch
The version I uploaded was using a float, actually (zoom 1.25).PyTom wrote:As a quick test - are you specifying the problematic zooms as integers? If so, can you try specifying it as a float? Like 2.0 instead of 2?

Re: Algorithm for tallying values of variables?
Ah, that looks like precisely the kind of thing I'm looking for. Certainly better than the embarrassing alternative I came up with due to my lack of Python knowledge. I didn't actually test this code - let me know if it works. Unfortunately, I received this error: TypeError: object of type 'generato...

Algorithm for tallying values of variables?
I wasn't quite sure how to phrase the subject line, but I had another weird question. I'm toying with the idea of having a “Percentage complete” report for the player. Thanks to a scene skip system I managed to cobble together, each scene has a variable at the end that keeps track of whether or not ...

Re: ATL movement glitch
I've been playing around with this a bit, and it does look like something might've changed in how RenPy handles zooming. I tried my sample in 6.11.2, 6.12.2 and 6.13.8. It zooms smoothly in 6.11, but the other two have that same jerky motion.

Re: Is there a Zoom offset? (And other ATL questions)
Multiple transforms can be chained, as long as there's a sensible way to do so, using the syntax you gave above. <facepalm> I just tried it, and sure enough, it works just fine. Funny, I could have sworn I attempted it before and got an error. Ah well, good to know it works. :) There isn't a...

Is there a Zoom offset? (And other ATL questions)
I've got a couple of questions for the coding gurus here. I know there's an xoffset and yoffset that allows you to move a displayable away from it's current position like: show eileen happy: linear 0.5 xoffset +50 But what I was wondering about, is whether or not something similar can be done with z...
