Re: EISAI (BXG, College Romance, Recruit, Demo and Screensho

A couple of questions... Scope: How many endings do you expect to include? Be careful with this. Make sure you're prepared to create all the story content that you commit to writing. If you need to scale back the project, or release it one part / route at a time, that's fine. We originally intended...

EISAI (BXG, College Romance, Recruit, Demo and Screenshots)

I'm Themocaw (director and route writer), and I'm here with the team from Shotglass Studios, including our art lead Rtil, to present Eisai, a visual novel project we've been working on using Ren'Py. Eisai takes place at the fictional Inou Tadataka University, a prestigious school in southwest Japan,...

What I am doing: Using the two-box "say" system to have a separate window for the character name above the text box. What I want to do: Move the "name" box to left, right, or center depending on the character's position on the screen. EXAMPLE Beefcake "As the beefcake I'm st...

Re: Princess maker 2

I loved Princess Maker 2, although my friends gave my strange looks when I showed them the game. I always thought it might be interesting to create a more action-based version of it: the idea I had was a kingdom that undergoes a coup d'etat, and you play as the soldier who is entrusted with the safe...

Re: Limits/Features of Ren'Py

In a word: yes, it will work. My current game I'm developing uses just such a mechanism: the character gains "love," "wuss," and "jerk" points as they make different conversation choices, and their point totals determine which ending they get.

Death's speech to Azrael at the end of "Reaper Man" by Terry Pratchett gets me every time. If you haven't read the book, I won't spoil it for you. If you have, you know what I mean.
