Re: The argument against Generic Games
In all these arguments back and forth about art and writing and the balance between them, not once have I ever seen music being mentioned as an essential component of the game. (of course somebody would post after I wrote that) I realize that not everyone can compose their own music or hire someone ...

Re: Japanese or English names?
Usually, I don't like seeing obviously Japanese names in English VNs unless the character is Japanese, and of course if the character in question is actually American (or something) with a Japanese heritage, then the name would most likely be a mix of some sort. Really, you should use the names and ...

Re: 6.12.2: Hardware Survey
Personally – I think y'all are overreacting a bit. As a gamer and (admittedly new) developer, I really have no problems with giving out information which is essentially harmless. As long as it's just a few hardware specifics, what's the big deal? I'm honestly still amazed that someone would write so...

Re: A question for VN players
For me, the story comes before anything else; good characterization and worldbuilding, as well as a good grasp of storytelling technique (that means a blend of narrative, description, and dialogue, not just the latter). It's one reason why I enjoy complex VNs like Umineko, or even simple and poignan...

Re: Setting places for the game to autosave?
Well, yes. That's the problem; I can't seem to get it to work. I'm not getting any error messages, but it's just making the default saves, not at the points I'd like it to.
Sorry, should've made that clearer to begin with. Me+rush typing is never a good combination.

Setting places for the game to autosave?
I finally got around to starting my kinetic novel a few weeks ago. It's mainly text-based, very long with lots of chapters (at least, that's the plan....). So, in case somebody accidentally closes the game without saving, I'd like to set save points at the beginning of each chapter so they won't hav...

Re: Looking for slave musician, mwahahah
If you still need someone for this, I might be able to help. I don't often compose music myself; however, I've been arranging for about half a year, and if I have a piece of music that's already in the public domain to work with (as with a great deal of classical music and folk songs), I can probabl...
