Re: Persistent dialogue choices?
I hate to add yet another voice but I think I understand the issue here. Based on your description it sounds like your setting variables as you go but not at start. What happens is that you set something true at somepoint. The game will now considered it true until it is changed by playing the game ...

Re: My Little Dictator [War][Romance]
I also wonder if for you turning someone into a girl makes them a laughing-stock? Because I find it cute (okay, Hitler would probably disagree) *so that kind of makes me think that the game does endorse fascism* Um, no, does turning someone into a girl make them a laughing stock in your opinion? Th...

Re: My Little Dictator [War][Romance]
Besides, the game I want to make is a game of Hitler. Thought so, just don't really understand why. The only thing you seem to gain is displeasure of people whose families suffered from Hitler / Stalin (doesn't seem like here are any but still) Personally I find the idea of ANY sort of censorship f...

Re: Examples of advanced scripts?
A lot of really specific tricks are, well, really specific. Trying to explain how to bring them in to another game is more trouble than it's worth and you don't really want people totally cloning you even if you aren't making money. I think there is a pretty good amount of sharing, often it seems li...

Re: Examples of advanced scripts?
The Cookbook section here contains pretty advanced code in some cases. I'd start there.

Okay, I'm impressed. I'll have to keep this in mind for a future project.

Re: Shrinking the size of the actual game
Do you have your original PSDs stored in the directory? A zip file you misplaced? That's a lot of data. Check every directory and sort by size.

0 would probably be the friendliest.
Edit: You know you're a programmer when the difference between Zero and None is important.

Re: RPG Battle Engine - Alpha 7.5, downloads in first post
That would do it. I assumed the result would be an error. So the Attack winds up setting combatResist to None but doesn't complain when doing so. Makes sense now.Jake wrote: Secondly, if you call GetStat to fetch a stat which the fighter doesn't actually possess, then that will return a None.

Re: RPG Battle Engine - Alpha 7.5, downloads in first post
It works fine with the filter and I don't mind being able to get Scenary. I do want to be able to damage the scenary but I hadn't programmed that yet and what's more the errors I was getting seem logically impossible. The values being multiplied couldn't be NoneTypes and certainly shouldn't be diffe...

Re: RPG Battle Engine - Alpha 7.5, downloads in first post
It works but unlike my previous method seems to be pulling Scenary which I hadn't yet designed to interact with my combat rules. At least I think that's what's happening. Now I'm getting Float * NoneType errors for this: combatDamage = (self.AttackDamage *damageRate)-((self.AttackDamage *damageRate ...

Re: Character digital shading
You don't seem to have highlights to balance the shading and the shading on her skin is too light. Other than that the shading seems to be on the right track. Mostly I'd say just keep going. The crook of her arm and her neck need some shading. Just keep looking and thinking "where do I need to ...
