Re: Problem with ui.text()

The text being display are the format strings rather than the variables and I don't know how to fix it. You can try this: label start: python: ui.window(yalign=0) ui.vbox() ui.text("Day: "+str(day)+" "+str(dayName)) ui.text("\nIntelligence: "+str(intelligence)) ui.text("Social Rep: "+str(socialRep)...

Re: Using the RPG frame [NEW PROBLEM]

does that mean im going to have to move all the variables that rely on those random numbers to right after the start label as well? You mean like this?: init: $ hp_iv_gen = 0 $ atk_iv_gen = 0 $ def_iv_gen = 0 $ sp_atk_iv_gen = 0 $ sp_def_iv_gen = 0 $ spd_iv_gen = 0 label start: $ hp_iv_gen = renpy....

Re: TypeError: charsheet() takes exactly 4 arguments (0 given)

I'm not sure what 'str' or 'int' it refers to I think it's referring to the ui.bar's data: ui.bar("%(HeroMaxHP)d" % globals(), "%(HeroCurrentHP)d" % globals(), xmaximum = 150, left_bar = Frame ("hbar_full.png", 12, 0), right_bar = Frame ("hbar_empty.png", 12, 0), thumb = None, thumb_shadow = None) ...

You can try using color tag within the hyperlink like so:

Code: Select all

a "This is the sentence {a=define_quine}{color=#000000}this it the hyperlink{/color}{/a} ..."

Re: Is there a way to toggle Auto-Forward?

Is there a way to toggle it on and off...perhaps with a keystroke? You can use ui.keymap in an overlay like so: init python: def afm_overlay(): ui.keymap(A=ui.callsinnewcontext("toggle_afm")) #This keymap uses A. You can choose your own keymap. config.overlay_functions.append(afm_overlay) label tog...

Re: Questions involving Navigation Menu related things.

how can you make it so that this screen stays blank at the very start of the game, and fills in a character spot when I want it to, like when the character is first introduced in to the story? You can use ifs and ui.textbuttons like so: init: $ character1_seen=False label start: "Character1 approac...

Re: conflicting overrides in narration v. custom styles

Thanks, but the problem remains that characters based on (None) inherit the narrator line_spacing and while the font can be overridden, the line_spacing cannot. Use what_line_spacing and font in the Character like so: init: $ j =Character(None, what_line_spacing=2, what_font="fonts/GoudyBookletter1...

Use None if you don't want the names like so:

Code: Select all

init:
    $ d =Character(None)
label start:
    d "This one doesn't have a name."

Re: Viewport with multiple ui-childobjects

Still, could anyone point directions to how to place images without losing background drag? Well, you can try the inefficient way of setting the value of ypos to negative when using vbox like so: python hide: ui.side(('c', 'b', 'r'), xpos=100, ypos=50, spacing=5) vp = ui.viewport(draggable=True, mo...

Re: Ghosts of previous narration text boxes

If your scene picture doesn't fill up the whole screen, use show instead and use a blank scene like so: init: image dino="dino.jpg" image blank=Solid("#000") image whole_screen_scene="800x600.jpg" label start: scene whole_screen_scene "This is a normal scene." scene blank show dino "This is when you...

Re: "Continue" button on main menu

Would be possible to code that, so you can add a "Continue" button on main menu to load the last saved game? You can try making a button to jump to something like this at the main menu: label load_most_recent: python hide: file_to_load=False saved_games=renpy.list_saved_games(regexp=r'.') timer=0 f...
