Wow! So around 20,000 words = 1hr, I was off then. Thanks for the advice everyone it really helps, I can understand if the same old thing is happening that it does get boring. Anyway I have another question, how long would you want to play a route for before you got sick of it? 2 to 5 hrs somewhere ...

Hmm... I heard that 10 000 words = 1hr but depends on people's speed and if the stop to stare at images I guess. I agree with the things said above if you're making a spin off at least keep the moral or lesson in it somehow. Another thing is don't create it to follow the story line exactly sure you can keep a few little things (example: What characters are, A bear, human, butterfly and so on) I find if a story...

Hmm... Two playable MC's is possible but it would be easier for you if you make it that depending on which you play as they can only chase a certain obtainable/s that the other can't, otherwise it will become a mess if both of the MC's have different personalities.

Hmm... In my opinion a game without some backgrounds that either set the mood or tell where you are, makes the game less appealing and won't attract my attention as much as one with bg. So if you want more people to play I suggest having some sort of bg's for visual appeal, even if there just a quic...
