Re: Battle Engine - Alpha 1 release, downloads in first post
I also plan to add the [optional] ability to destroy Scenery That'd be friggin' awesome *_* Obviously it would be tedious to block out all of the non-grid spaces in that example with individual one-square invulnerable scenery elements, but like this it's relatively easy. Something else to look forw...

Re: Battle Engine - Alpha 1 release, downloads in first post
Let's say I want to build a wall on an iso grid, and I want that wall to behave as Scenery . Does it mean that for each tile it's going to cover I've got to add a wall section sprite and specify it's position with Add.Scenery ? It seems logical, I think, but I just want to confirm this because it me...

Re: Battle Engine - Alpha 1 release, downloads in first post
cool =)
That would mean that even a "capture the flag" condition could be coded. Endless possibilities ! =D

Re: Battle Engine - Alpha 1 release, downloads in first post
I had this idea yesterday while I was starting to build my own iso test grid : could it be possible to have tiles on the grid that would "jump" to a label ? And could going to that label temporarily "pause" the ongoing battle or, put an end to it ? What I have in mind is for example, the possibility...

Re: Battle Engine - Alpha 1 release, downloads in first post
I only had time for a quick overview. One thing is I didn't seem to find any code for walking animations ( in particular with the iso grid example ). Is it there but without examples because you do not have animated sprites ? Or is it not there yet ? Same with the "states" the sprites could have, li...

Re: Battle Engine
Cool, because I feel the same way, I have no plan on going commercial at the moment, it's just good to know you're open to discussion in case an opportunity shows up =)

Re: Battle Engine
I see that you're leaning towards CC-NC, does it still leave room for a commercial project with your agreement ?

Re: Battle Engine
Oh wow, Elemental opponents ! Geoff looks like he's gonna have a hard time beating these three. =D They look good btw, i like the earth elemental the most. Also, will it be difficult to choose how many tiles you want the battlefield to be ? And how large in pixels the tiles themselves are ? edit : I...

Re: Battle Engine
Thank you ! I'll be aiming at something reasonable but with a different approach than yours. I want it to look really nice, so that does mean I'll probably be modeling units in 3D. But I'm really planning on just a few characters and for a very short game. I'm thinking modeling in 3d for approximate...

Re: Battle Engine
I was just going through some isometric drawing tutorials Care to share the links ? =P Can anyone think of, or does anyone know of, a decent f(attack, defence) => damage resolution algorithm that's simple and clean enough to make a good example without having much in the way of arbitrary numbers or ...
