Twitch Dates Pokemon: Looking for volunteer artists!

Hello! If anyone here's heard of the Twitch Plays Pokemon phenomenon, then this project might appeal to you. (Even if you haven't, if you'd still like to help, we'd definitely love to have you on our team.) Basically called Twitch Dates Pokemon, we're a group of users from Reddit who want to make a ...

Re: What do you want to know about Japan?

I've heard that the suicide rate in Japan is extremely high... how does this affect Japanese people/society? Is it still considered an "honorable death" or does suicide carry the same stigma as it does here?

Also, are shut-ins (I think they're called hikikomori) very common?

Re: Zenith Chronicles (BxG) - Free for a limited time!

I tried installing it directly onto the Windows 7 laptop this time, but the same error still occurred.

Re: Zenith Chronicles (BxG) - Free for a limited time!

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I installed the game onto a USB flash drive? I was on an administrator account on Windows Vista when I installed the game. The same error also appears when I try to run it on a laptop with Windows 7.

Re: Zenith Chronicles (BxG) - Free for a limited time!

First of all, I'd like to thank you for making this game available for free! I'm really excited to be able to play it, but I do have one problem. I did download and install the game, but when I try to run it for the first time, I get the message "Error: Could not load game data." The game window the...

Re: How to avoid cliché in a Japanese high school setting?

Keep in mind that "set in Japan" doesn't have to mean "set in Toyko." Places like this, this and this are all in Japan, but would make for a nice change of pace, setting wise. That's funny, I never really wanted to set it in Tokyo. I was considering a more mild, suburban theme (and those pictures a...

Re: How to avoid cliché in a Japanese high school setting?

Thank you for all the encouragement! Personally, being able to create something for myself is fun, though I can't pretend that I don't like positive feedback. Hopefully I can put out a game that a player can enjoy as much as I do, haha. Making a game set in a Japanese high school wasn't exactly my d...

Re: How to avoid cliché in a Japanese high school setting?

There's a thin line between advice and criticism. I hope you understand we're trying to give the former. Yes, and thank you. I realize that it's much more of a warning than an attack, haha. The one thing that I am afraid of, though, is becoming ignorant... sorry if I seemed that way. I really am em...

Re: How to avoid cliché in a Japanese high school setting?

Thanks, everyone, 'cause you've... successfully discouraged me from attempting the game. XD I can understand even if I did complete it, it won't be well-received, so I'm starting to write a completely different story (which is, yes, set in a place that I have personally experienced). Maybe I could f...

Re: How to avoid cliché in a Japanese high school setting?

So... basically you didn't set it in America because of stereotypes, but set it in a cliché Japan setting? Hmm. Haha, I must admit that I was pretty contradictory... if it helps, though, my family is Japanese/Korean and I grew up in a predominantly Asian area. (though I was born here in the US, so ...

How to avoid cliché in a Japanese high school setting?

So, I’ve been starting work on a simple visual novel… I’ve had the idea for a while now. In its most basic form, the story centers on a socially awkward girl who joins a high school club. The plot involves her past and her friendships with the three other members. It’s not exactly groundbreaking, bu...

Re: Kaiyume's sketch requests. (Open!)

Finished these at school today, and I realized that the heads I draw are rather... long. And they seem to face the left all the time for no apparent reason. And everyone looks the same... hahaha. Ah, well, I learn more things about my art as I draw, so please don't hesitate to criticize my results! ...
