Re: Fading Hearts: Looking for BG artist badly, will pay
it's hard to say if I want to or don't want to work for you guys because you have no visual examples for your game, and I do pretty poorly with big blocks of text. Try to make what you need in a few bullet points.

Re: Tracing Programs
Well, your problem is not about RAM there, Ren. It's more about the video card GPU. ::facepalm:: no, graphical RAM has nothing to do with 2D imaging. Maybe if said user was using Maya or 3DMAX intensively it'd matter, but for 2D applications (photoshop, painter, illustrator etc) all that really mat...

Re: Another Lineart Question
Well yeah, that was a gross exaggeration of the idea. It has its uses but I don't always work this wayCybeat wrote:I think the original one is better.

Re: Another Lineart Question
So you lineart it then shrink it? yep. Not that I recommend this, but time to time I'll draw something big using a very fine pen and then "cheat" using photoshop to create thicker lines. http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/49/thinlinesor2.jpg (original line base) http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/3...

Re: Another Lineart Question
Draw really big and with big quick strokes.
You may also want to experiment with using an off gray color for your lines.
I usually try to work at least 1.5 times bigger than the finished product. 2 or 3 times bigger if possible.

Re: Room System
o_O ok, the game is working!
However, there's a bit of a problem - I can't quit the game unless I die.
How do I make it so that I can break out of the game?

Re: Room System
However barbaric and unrefined the script may be, I've got the thing to work somewhat.
It's not working on timers as I hoped yet, but you can get the gist of what should happen in the game by holding down the ctrl key (skipping mode).
Excuse the objects for flickering in and out.

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
I really need to thank the idiot who burned the South gate down. Really. Way to destroy a national treasure. >_> If it were China, he would probably have been executed for that. Ah well, I guess it'll just be rebuilt... Japan and most of West Europe managed to rebuilt most of its historical monumen...

Menu options that appear or disappear.
I want to write a script where you are in a six story building and depending on what floor you are on, when you try to go up or down on the stairs the menu omits the floor you are already on. So that if I was on the first floor, the menu would show: "Go to the 2nd floor" "Go to the 3rd floor" "Go to...

Fooling around with menus
Hey all, I saw this cool option to add buttons to the in-game screen to save, load, change preferences or quit the game but I'm getting an error I don't know how to correct. Here it is... in options.rpy I put in: init python: # This file adds a number of buttons to the lower-right hand corner of # t...

Re: Room System
I love the art. The concept is interesting... but the current state of the files confuses me ^^;... Is this "playable" at all? Or just a sprite displaying test for now? Nope, it's not functional at all! I'm used to making graphics but I'm not used to scripting with Ren'py... so.. the zip just has a...
