I like the second style, but I'd add lineart

My style isn't usually traditional anime, but I've been working on making more anime looking sprites. Something still looks off on my characters though and I can't figure it out. Any help/critiques/tips would be greatly appreciated

You'd be much better off using dodge/burn sparingly. It makes everything look one dimensional. They eyes are at and angle but the face isn't so it looks crooked.
